Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanisha Mackin.
Hi Tanisha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
In 2010, my husband was murdered on our one-year wedding anniversary in the city of Buffalo, NY in what was called one of the worst crimes in Buffalo. I used writing as a way to help heal myself and I wrote my first book. That book took off and I continued writing. I became a publisher because I started to receive calls and emails from people asking me if I could help them with their book process and it became a business. Writing and publishing led me to become a ghostwriter for my clients and I enjoy writing their stories. Besides becoming an award-winning and bestselling author, publisher, and ghostwriter, in 2021, I became a travel writer. I decided to travel write because I wanted to combine my two passions of traveling and writing. I love writing content for future travelers.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
A few things I encounter on my journey was, I had to learn that everyone will not be supportive of your business or your books. I had to learn to focus on the people who are supporting me instead of those who are not. In business, I had to learn that all money isn’t good money and you cannot please everyone. I had a few bumps in the road but they were learning experiences to help me grow as a person and business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am an author, celebrity ghostwriter, publisher, and travel writer. I specialize in writing, so ghostwriting, and publishing for my clients. What sets me apart from others with my clients is because I really listen to their needs and I make it my business to make sure I bring their words to life on paper. I want my clients’ books to stand out from others.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I learned several lessons from the Covid- 19 crisis. I learned that family is important and to spend as much time with them as you can because you never know when it will be your last day. I learned so much while in lock down due to Covid-19.
