Rhonda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My small business started in my home. I was always fascinated by learning about different herbs and their benefits. I never was the person that liked to take medication because of all the side effects and what it does to your body. That’s when I took my passion for learning about herbs, studying the ins and the outs of each one, and especially focusing on how it helps women. Women go through so much in life from fertility, menopause, endometriosis, heavy and light menstrual, and even miscarriages. That’s how Precious Pearls came to life. I was mainly online where I should custom blend v-steams on Etsy for small businesses like myself or for individuals. As the business grew and I was sending out packages as far as Canada and Africa I knew it was time to expand. Covid hit and I mean it hit hard I was laid off from my job but thankfully I still had a steady income coming in. I wanted to expand but I also wanted to be able to be within reach of my family. I kept hearing about these she sheds that people were getting redoing. And that’s what we did we went and purchased an 18×36 she shed and redid the whole building to accommodate my business. I started from the ground up but not by myself I met a young lady named Sidra Robinson who was so goal-driven she had a small business like myself and I knew right then she was the one to come in with me. She’s a Lash Technician and definitely a go-getter. Precious Pearls & Blinks Beauty Bar and Spa was born and we were the proud mothers.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing is smoothed about starting a business. Buying plywood for the flooring definitely will drain your account. Make sure you get the right contractor because some people are out just to get your money.

I am a certified Herbalist, Yoni Steam Practitioner, and Body Sculpture. We offer V-Steams, Herbal Foot Detox, Lash Extensions, and Body Sculpting. We also have natural and organic herbs that we sell. My proudest moment is I never gave up on my dream. Even when family and friends did not support us, I still held my head up.
Our atmosphere is what set us apart from other places. I want every client or customer to feel at home when they visit us.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as taking time for self-reflection and taking notes on my personal and professional goals and achievements. Familiarize me with the company and the views of success, visions, and goals.
