Daily Inspiration: Meet Pollyana Conte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pollyana Conte.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My interest in drawing and painting began in early childhood and while our family moved many times, my art has been a constant in my life, as both a challenge and an outlet; a discipline and a passion; a source of personal renewal and a gift to others.

I’ve found I don’t have to chase inspiration, but rather trust that it will pop up like a treasured friend, showing up at any time and in any place through other artists, music or colors, and new experiences. I am not confined to one subject area, preferring to vary my projects and media.

Though watercolor is my favorite medium, I like to extend to pencil, resin, ink, and charcoal. Today, I am doing art full time and going where my art takes me I plan to start traveling full time in my new RV in 2023!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to success is never smooth. I am thankful for all the lessons I’ve learned and for those that helped me along my way so far into releasing that being a full-time artist is possible with time, hard work, and consistency.

I grew up being told that artists only got “famous” or had money after they died, I am thankful that we live in a world that with time, hard work and consistency, and SOCIAL MEDIA we can truly make being an artist a way of living and not be “starving” artists.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a watercolor artist, I have found that nature provides me with an excellent opportunity to share my talent so I have created wildlife, landscape, and much more work.

Largely, because of the great response, I have received from customers, pet portraits and house portraits have become my favorite and pretty popular. “Avery” is my most prized work. , “Avery” is painted from a photo of a non-profit hunting event for survivors of trauma.

“The expression in their eyes and the details,” I have been told by clients, that is what sets my work apart from another artist

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
The art world is filled with so many talented people.

Being a young artist is a difficult time, but getting support to be who I AM, is most important. Developing as a person and as an artist, one has to be very careful who you learn from.

There is a lot of good people/artist out there. You can learn from some good ones and some bad ones! Be careful who you choose.

Those that want to help you grow into YOU, are you ones you want.
