Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Chavez.
Hi Madison, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My beautiful journey started a little over 8 years ago when I met my husband in the midst of a really hard time going through high school. A few months later, I was surprised with a teen pregnancy at the age of 16. Little did I know it would end up being the biggest blessing in disguise. I grew up in a broken home and spent a lot of my childhood years struggling with being bullied, hanging out with the wrong crowds, and getting into situations I simply shouldn’t have been a part of. I truly believe my baby was my saving grace. I was so incredibly blessed to have a present partner, who supported and loved me every step of my pregnancy. In 2015, we welcomed our first son, Kayden into the world. It was the day our world changed forever. A few months later, we decided to get married. No big event, just the two of us, and our sweet little boy at the courthouse, and it meant so very much to us. At the age of 17 and 19, with a brand new baby living in our parents’ home with nothing to our name, we decided it was time to step up and give our boy everything he deserved so my husband decided to give up his freedom to fight for ours. He joined the Air Force in early 2016 and just a few months later we got stationed in Charleston, South Carolina at our very first duty station and have been here ever since. My husband has always been our supporter and allowed me to be a stay-at-home mom from day one but I quickly found a few hobbies I loved to do on the side that helped bring in a little extra money for our family. Once moving to South Carolina, I grew a huge love for photography and soon began my little side business Madison Chavez Photography. I adored capturing so many beautiful families in the Lowcountry. I then added doula services into my business as I started to dive into the holistic world and started to love all things natural and birth-related. It was a dream but it quickly became impossible to do as a mama with no village to help. So being on call 24/7 just wasn’t feasible for me. We then welcomed our second son Channing in 2017. What a joy it was to have two sweet boys who were best friends but we always knew we wanted a big family, so we decided it was time to try again in late 2018. I unfortunately then suffered two back-to-back miscarriages and we slowly started to lose hope of growing our family. After many months of struggle, we finally found out we were expecting our rainbow baby, Indie who was born in mid-2020. She has inspired me to do the most since she was born. I started to post on TikTok when the pandemic started for fun, but didn’t think much would come from it. I quickly started to share all about the mom world. Birth tips, becoming a teen mom, my struggles with my losses, mom hacks, etc. The videos quickly became a hit in the “mom tok” world, and my page rapidly started to grow. In the beginning of 2021, I launched my online store Indie Moon, which started as a women’s only store, but is now a women’s and baby boutique! We are currently working on so much more for Indie Moon and have lots of amazing launches in the works! Aside from being a stay-at-home homeschooling mom, handling social media and our small business, it quickly became a 24/7 job that I needed help keeping up with. So in mid-2021, with my husband’s time in service coming to an end, we decided it was time to bring him home forever so we could pursue these goals to the fullest! We have been a work-from-home family ever since! We then welcomed our fourth little babe, Isla early this year in 2022 and we are the absolute happiest we’ve ever been! This crazy hectic world that comes from being an influencer has not been all butterflies and rainbows but all the love and support our family has received is 1000% worth it. Never in a million years did I think we’d be impacting so many lives in such a positive way. So thankful to be where we are today!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an influencer/content creator + business owner. We share all about family, lifestyle, and parenthood. I am most proud of becoming a successful teen mom who has never been handed anything in life. I have worked so incredibly hard for this success without any help.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is having a healthy, happy, loving home for my kids. Success to me is making it to the place I am now from working all on my own, and not ever being given a single thing from anyone. Success to me is overcoming all of the hardships that we ever have faced. Success to me is being able to support my family all on my own. Success to me is being able to bring my husband home forever to spend every missed moment due to the military plus more with his babies. We have set so many goals throughout the years, and we have always manifested and turned them all into reality and I am so proud of that.
