Daily Inspiration: Meet Guillermo Granier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Guillermo Granier.

Hi Guillermo, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Because of socialism and a corrupt government, my family and I had to leave our home country. We ended up moving to Atlanta, GA, in 2007. Since moving to Atlanta, I have fallen in love with baseball. Because of that, I ended up in Charleston, SC, because I was on the College of Charleston Division 1 baseball team for 3 years. During my Junior Year, I found myself losing the passion I had for the game. That is when I began focusing on Commercial Real Estate. I got an internship with Lee & Associates Charleston, a Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Firm, while I was a Junior in college. I was balancing school, baseball, and the internship all at the same time. That is when I decided to quit baseball. That following summer, I acquired my SC Real Estate license. Instead of an intern, I am now a Junior Associate. I am a Senior in college, licensed in South Carolina, and planning to stay with Lee & Associates as an Associate after graduation.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Moving from Venezuela was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. There are always bumps on the road, but they only make you stronger. Thankfully, I was 7 years old and could learn English relatively quickly. In terms of school, I’ve had a pretty smooth road along the way. Same with baseball, as I could play at the Division 1 level. Everything leading up to this point has prepared me for my future career in Commercial Real Estate Brokerage.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Commercial Real Estate agent. I am still a full-time student, but I am licensed in South Carolina and have had the opportunity to close multiple deals. Currently, I am mainly doing work in the Retail sector, but still doing a little bit of everything. I help people find their dream location, whether retail, office, industrial, or land. My services include Seller Representation, Buyer Representation, Landlord Representation, Tenant Representation, lease auditing, and consulting. I am also fluent in English and Spanish, so I plan to make myself known in the Spanish-speaking community. I am very proud of myself for all I have accomplished. I am licensed in South Carolina and am still a full-time student. What sets me apart is my drive. I know what I want and will work the hours to get it.
