Conversations with Katori “Tori” Miller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katori “Tori” Miller.

Katori “Tori” Miller

Hi, Katori “Tori,” I am so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started in the beauty industry about 24 years ago after I graduated high school. However, it has always been my heart’s desire to help people feel better holistically, mind, and spirit from a” whole” person perspective. As I look back, maybe this is why God started me in the beauty industry: to gain more insight about how to help people. Several years ago, I began to hear God say, “There’s more I require of you,” it was like a pulling; something kept tugging at my heart to help people thrive. As you can imagine, I heard a little bit of everything as I stood behind the chair, listening and offering advice as the spirit led me to, but there was still more that needed to be done. Fast forward to when life started happening, and I was encouraged by my best friend to start journaling, which led to my first published book,” Finding Him In Me,” which can be purchased on Amazon and Barnes & Noble websites (not so shameless plugs). Life seemed to keep hitting as hard as it could as the years seemed to zoom by, and several family members started to fall ill. It made me sick because I wanted to help. At this point, the tug I had been feeling got stronger. After the transitioning of 5 extremely close family members in 3 years, I decided it was time to start to take care of myself, and the spirit showed up through my massage therapist with specific instructions, “Go back to school.” So I did, and here I am, a Certified Natural Health Professional and 2 months away from being a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner. I’m also a Reiki Practitioner, an herbalist, and an essential oil specialist. There truly is a purpose in your pain.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road as I’m growing and learning to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. Some struggles I’ve faced are navigating through social media and learning a new business and its legalities, putting myself out there, and networking, as I’ve always been pretty quiet. Still, as I emerge from my cocoon, I am getting accustomed to using my wings.

I appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, meaning I focus on the whole person, not symptoms. I support the mind by helping clients release trapped emotions (which can affect different organs in the body) that may be keeping them from thriving, the body by making dietary recommendations and herbs and supplements when needed, and the spirit by offering Reiki sessions and encouraging them to tap into their spirituality by either developing or strengthening their relationship with God. My focus is gut health, energy work (Reiki), herbs and essential oils. Teaching is another gift I’ve been given, so what sets me apart is that I help educate clients on how they can bring balance to their bodies so the body can do what God designed it to do; heal itself. Explaining what makes me different is one thing: my gifts are to be experienced.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
There is a difference between “knowing” someone and “knowing of” or being familiar with someone. To know me is to know me, which means those close to me know I enjoy researching, and I won’t stop until I am satisfied with an answer that leads to resolve, and I love history.
