Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Garcia.
Hi Charles, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
My wife and I came across Summer Moon during our travels to the Austin area and instantly fell in love with the coffee and the shop’s atmosphere. The barista who took our order brought me a Post-it note with the email address of the CEO on it, and I reached out to him via email from the hotel that night. That is how it all started in May 2021. Since then, our son trained for six weeks in Texas, managed a store for the franchisees in Farragut, TN, for about eight months, and is now our Director of operations over our stores.
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Looking back, it has been fairly smooth, but a tremendous amount of work and so many little details you don’t think about have gone into it. Summer Moon has been awesome to work with; they have processes to assist along the way.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I spent the first 25+ years of my career after graduating from Clemson University as a civil engineer with a civil design firm in Greenville.
