Conversations with Ansley Burns

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ansley Burns.

Hi Ansley, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started singing at a young age. I would sing all the time, in front of my parents and at church, just for fun. I started attending voice lessons at the age of 9. Voice lessons helped me realize I wanted to be a singer and entertain people. After attending voice lessons for a while, my mom brought up the idea of auditioning for America’s Got Talent. I, of course, said yes and was so excited to see what the how experience would be like. After going through the whole audition process, nowhere we got a call from America Got Talent saying that I had made it on the show. I was so thrilled to have that opportunity on such a big stage. The whole experience was amazing! I learned from and met so many kind judges on that show. I also got to meet some friends along the way. A couple of years after the show, I decided I wanted to audition for another competition show, The Voice. The audition process was long, but I enjoyed being on the show. Even though I was on the show for a short period, I got to meet talented musicians that I looked up to and listened to their music. I have been blessed with amazing opportunities along the way, and I’m so thankful. I’m excited to see what happens in my career in the future.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have been blessed with great opportunities, but I still have a long road to get where I want to go in my career.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a 16-year-old singer from Easley, South Carolina. I am best known for my performances on America’s Got Talent and The Voice. My vocal range and ability to adapt quickly to change set me apart from others.

Do you have any advice for those just starting?
My advice for anyone starting out is to have confidence in yourself and your abilities. Having confidence in yourself is very important; it can help you overcome your fears and obstacles. I remember when I first started singing in front of people, I was so shy and reserved, but along the way, I learned through the years how to become more confident and the importance of it.
