Today we’d like to introduce you to Allison Eady. She share her story with us below:
Over the past four years, Allison Eady has had the amazing opportunity to work alongside some incredible photographers as a second shooter for weddings and events. Shadowing and working with her fellow peers fueled her love for photography. It simultaneously allowed her to be creative while also sharing her love for serving people. After much consideration, prayer, and encouragement from family, friends, and peers, Allison took the leap of faith and created Allison Eady Photography.
“My favorite part of photographing people is providing them with a side of themselves that they would never see otherwise,” says Allison who truly feels that photography is not just for the present, but a tool for the future in order to show and remind people of a previous moment in time. Creating a professional and enjoyable experience for clients is Allison’s daily motivation.
WhenAllison is not shooting photography, you can find her with her favorite person in the world; her son! She also serves in different areas of her community and is a member of the Young Professionals of Sumter. Allison is also enrolled at Columbia International University where she is pursuing a degree in Psychology. Her desire to serve others has and will continue to be her purpose in life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Though it has not been a smooth road, Allison counts herself blessed. Being a single mother, business owner, and college student require a healthy work life balance. Allison believes that the sacrifices are worth the rewards to come and continues to pursue her goals.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Allison is a photographer who specializes in High-school Senior photography as well as event, family, and lifestyle newborn photography. She is most known for her style of photography and most clients gleam over their experience with her. Allison is most proud of the fact that she taught herself how to edit her photos without using presets. Though it took time and a lot of mental energy, it has allowed her to create a unique style and given her the tools needed to be more creative in her work.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Rebecca Koenig of RK Photography is a mentor who truly taught me everything I know about how to use a camera. She was the first person I shot alongside and has been a great support and friend. Jessica Benton of Jessica Benton Photography has been an incredible cheerleader from the beginning! She believes in me and encourages me daily and has been a true confidence coach through all of this. My closest friends Marie, Katie and Emerson who have prayed for me and kept me grounded through the first year of business. They are my sounding board, my cheerleaders, and some of my biggest supporters. They have no idea how grateful I am for loving me so well. My parents who continue to love and support me through it all, but especially my mother who truly believes in my business. She has been a great support and critic. Lastly, my son. He has seen me sacrifice so much and who never complains. He is my heart, the biggest supporter of my life, and he loves me unlike any other.
