Today we’d like to introduce you to Susan Nefzger.
Hi Susan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
As a creative professional working in public relations and writing, I have enjoyed a highly substantive career. Later, as I wrote and published two inspirational books from a life-changing trip to Glastonbury, I included my purpose-driven self-awareness tips into coaching, and the pivot became more substantial. I am now promoting the third and newest book, “A Practical Guide to Living Fearlessly,” inspired before the pandemic yet written during the pandemic. In a prescient way, the book was fueled by, the times we live in now. It is a step by step guide to alleviating a fear based lifestyle in order to live a more joy filled, focused life.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any journey, there have been trials and tribulations, but it is always a learning experience! I divorced as I completed my first book, moved 4 times, and left my home state of Florida to relocate to Atlanta. During that time, I wrote the workbook and was inspired to write the third book, which had just been published. With purpose filled writing, we must stay present. In order to complete the journey of writing a book and maintaining the hope that our message is unique and provided in service to help others, presence is key. The book is to be used in my motivational speaking, and I am currently preparing the schedule for that activity!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Creatively, I am a PR pro, author, and coach; having been in the public relations field for 30 years, I segued into executive coaching as I was inspired by my self-awareness journey, which led to three books on self-awareness and fearless living. My work is always dovetailing within and around the projects I choose. I am known for my highly substantive PR career and my writing. I also love food and cuisine, which is a highlight of my photography and writing, as I blog, write articles and review restaurants. My hobbies are photography and golf. I love going out to discover new landscapes. I’m your girl if you want to work with a funny, forthright, and aware professional! I love working with executives to achieve their career dreams by defining a strategy to move them toward their goals in a fulfilling, focused manner. My love of writing is ignited with motivation towards helping others become self-aware. Once we begin on the path of self-discovery, everything else falls into place. In every facet of my work, helping others is always the theme.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Oh, I love so many things about Charleston! I fell in love about 4 years ago while driving back and forth to Florida during the pandemic to help care for my Mom. I finally relocated here in February. I love being close to the water, especially Sullivan’s Island, the rich history of Charleston, the relaxed sense of lifestyle, the people, and of course, the cuisine! There is not much I dislike about the area, except for the humidity in summer, but as I’m from Florida, I can manage it.
