Hi Gwendolyn, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I started my business in 2020. I always wanted to start my own business but was still determining what I wanted to do. I had a passion for fashion and loved to style people. Growing up, I was overweight, and I was ashamed to wear some of the clothing I wanted to wear because of my weight. I started picking out the dress I wanted to wear and began styling others with them. That’s when it came to me, I decided to start a lingerie/sleepwear business, and my target audience started with plus-size women. Since 2020 I’ve encountered numerous women who reached out to me, telling me their stories and how I inspired them to wear sexy clothing confidently. My message to my customers is, “Sexy is not a size or shape; it’s confidence. Today I’m proud to say my business has expanded, and now I supply clothing for all sizes. This journey has been amazing so far, and I plan to keep expanding and inspiring more women to be their true selves.
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I faced some challenges in 2022 when my sales went down. I struggled to keep my business going because I barely had money to buy inventory, but I did not give up. I went through it, but now I’m back to normal business and plan to keep it going.

My business specializes in lingerie/sleepwear. I also specialize in other women’s clothing and offer services to style women for events or group events. I enjoy looking up different styles of clothing for my customers. I have great quality, affordable clothing for all shapes and sizes, and I enjoy serving my customers. That is what set me apart from others. If you give me your vision, I will bring it to reality.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you, and are any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Since I started my business around the pandemic, it has affected my startup time. I had to keep pushing my launch date back, but it worked out. A crisis can bring a business down.
