Community Highlights: Meet Patience Davis of Patience Tamarra LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patience Davis.

Hi Patience, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My journey into entrepreneurship and real estate happened quite suddenly after I quit my job in Property Management and moved from Washington, DC, to Columbia, SC. Before the move, I was unhappy with how my life looked. I was at an unfulfilling job and living hundreds of miles away from my family, feeling disconnected and alone. I was doing everything right. I had my place, I was the youngest Assistant Community Manager in my company and killing it by all standards and work obligations, but I was still unhappy. I even got a dog thinking that would help me feel alive. One night I was home listening to music and felt a wave of emotion. I was so swept up in tears I couldn’t stand, and as “woo woo” as it sounds, I heard a voice tell me to quit my job and focus on writing my first book. Shortly after that moment, I did just that. I quit my full-time job and began writing my first book, “Dear Self,” —a book of gentle reminders and loving affirmations centered around self-love, growth, and healing. I released my book in January 2021 and moved to SC a month later. I still didn’t have much of a plan, but I knew I needed my family and wanted to experience something new. My Aunt was already taking the Real Estate scene by storm in Columbia, so I decided to shadow her and see if this was the missing piece I kept feeling and longing to complete. After a few days of experiencing the business of Real Estate, I knew it was something I wanted to do and would be great at doing. I started online Real Estate school in May 2022 and passed my test in December 2022 after discovering I was pregnant with my first child. It’s funny how life works. So here I was, starting a new business, dealing with postpartum, and navigating life as a single mom, but I showed up and am still showing up to the life I am called to and the purpose I am meant to fulfill. Helping others find peace and happiness in home ownership is a joy I am so grateful to have the pleasure of experiencing.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
The road has been everything but smooth. There have been so many lessons along the way, and I am grateful for each. The main challenge I’ve faced so far has been surrounding my finances. I’ve been financially insecure since starting my Real Estate business because, in the beginning, I did not have the means to keep up with all the real estate fees and dues necessary to keep my license. There were 2 occasions when I barely had enough money to feed me yet alone pay the almost $200+ in REALTOR® dues to maintain my license and membership. I haven’t given up yet, and because I haven’t given up and continue to put forth the effort, I continue to be rewarded and provided for in such magical ways! I firmly believe that when you are walking on purpose, everything you need will be provided, and that has remained true for me.

As you know, we’re big fans of Patience Tamarra LLC. What can you tell our readers who might need to be more familiar with the brand?
Patience Tamarra Real Estate is more than just a business; it is a community and resource for your journey to homeownership and living the life you desire and deserve. Purchasing a home is the biggest investment you will ever make, which can feel extremely scary and uncomfortable. Outside of being your representation, my purpose in this space of Real Estate is to help guide you in making the best possible decision for yourself and your family by trusting in your intuition and your power. I know that may sound strange to some. Still, I am a firm believer (thanks to my background as a meditation coach and yoga instructor) in the ability to manifest what you desire into your reality, into the present moment. I help clients manifest their dream home (or simply their next home) through affirmations, vision boards, and intuition. Trust yourself before you trust in anyone else, especially in major life decisions like buying, selling, and investing in real estate.

Risk-taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Risks are necessary for growth. If we never take a risk, we will remain in the same cycles of life. The only way to experience something new is by taking risks outside of what we believe is comfortable and safe. I risked quitting my full-time job to follow my dream of becoming an author and entrepreneur. I took a risk packing up my life and moving 8 hours away from the only home I’ve ever known without a plan. I took a risk deciding to have my son with little money, and no partnership and each risk taught me something about myself and birthed a better version of me. I would tell you to take the risk every time.
