Hi Neelie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My career began in the high-end event industry in Charleston, SC. I spent over six years working for one of the largest hospitality groups in Charleston, managing thousands of weddings and events and overseeing staffing and event venues. Seeking a change in lifestyle, I transitioned to a traditional marketing agency in Richmond, VA, where I served as the Chief of Staff and later as a Client Project Manager. These roles allowed me to apply my event management skills effectively.
Upon leaving the agency, I identified a need among small to midsize businesses for assistance with their social media management and content creation. Recognizing the crucial role of social media in today’s business landscape, I realized that many small business owners lacked the time and resources to manage it effectively. To address this gap, I created Ramble Social, and now provide full-service social media management and content creation, acting as an extension of my clients’ team to relieve them of the burden of managing social media.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Life is never a smooth road, but I find that’s the fun of it. My current career isn’t what I originally envisioned but in the best possible way. While I always thought event planning was my calling, starting my own business and helping small businesses showcase their companies and brands through social media has been incredibly rewarding.
I faced challenges such as working for companies that didn’t align with my values and putting in countless overtime hours without recognition. As a small business owner, the daily ups and downs can be exhausting, but despite these struggles, I’m proud to have persevered and found a career that aligns with my lifestyle and values.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Instead of taking longer vacations every year, my family spent every weekend during the summer at the lake. Sometimes we even went multiple times in a weekend. These are my most cherished and favorite childhood memories. My parents would let my brother and me bring along friends, and we would have the time of our lives. There was just something special about being on the water from sunrise to sunset, leaving with a little too much sun, but even more laughter.
