Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Day.
Hi Michael, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Scan To Digital was founded in 2006 to address a growing challenge: how to preserve and share analog memories—such as photos, slides, and negatives—in a digital world. These images represent more than moments in time; they serve as a valuable genealogical record for future generations.
Recognizing that physical media naturally deteriorates over time, we developed a solution focused on the careful digitization of pre-digital materials. By converting these items into high-quality digital formats, we help safeguard your memories while making them easily accessible and shareable.
Our mission is to ensure that your most meaningful images are preserved for generations to come—allowing friends and family to enjoy, revisit, and pass them on well into the future.
We are celebrating 20 years of preserving memories this year.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have been fortunate to build a team that fully embraces our commitment to delivering high-quality service at a fair and transparent price. Maintaining our standards has always been a top priority, and we have worked diligently to ensure consistency in every order we process.
Unlike bulk scanning providers, we take a hands-on approach—carefully scanning each image individually and reviewing every digital file to ensure it meets our quality standards. Balancing controlled growth, maintaining exceptional quality, and delivering outstanding value to our clients is an ongoing focus and a responsibility we take seriously.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Scan To Digital specializes in converting physical media—including photos, slides, and negatives—into high-quality digital formats. Every item we process includes careful cropping, proper orientation, color correction, and the use of advanced software to reduce minor dust and scratches. Final images are delivered on a USB drive or securely uploaded to the cloud for convenient access.
We offer a fast turnaround time of approximately four business days for photo orders under 1,000 images and slide orders under 500 slides. Our pricing is highly competitive, with photo scanning starting at just $0.12 per image and slide or negative scanning beginning at $0.27 per frame.
We are especially proud of the thousands of satisfied clients who continue to refer their family and friends to our services. Referrals are the strongest testament to the quality of our work. We recognize that each project represents a piece of personal and family history, and we approach that responsibility with the utmost care and attention to detail.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
