Community Highlights: Meet Latia Jones of Xclood Organizing & Cleaning Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Latia Jones.

Latia Jones

Hi Latia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Growing up in a blended household was crowded. It was 6 of us. We were all expected to do our part around the house. My mother, Latisha, was very particular about how the house looked. We cleaned! We washed walls and cleaned baseboards; we grew up in mill houses mostly, so we were our dishwashers. The funny thing about my mom is if you didn’t do the job right, she would make you do it again. It could have been 3 am when she woke you to wash dishes. At the time, we thought she was crazy, but as I got older, I learned to appreciate the values she instilled in me. I didn’t realize how much I took after her until I started to enjoy cleaning. It’s relaxing, and I take pride in what I do. It’s satisfying and rewarding. The best part of my job is the look on my client’s faces once I’m done. What made me start my business was in my home. I have routines to stay clean and organized in my house. I would clean every closet, cabinet, under couches, inside the refrigerator, etc. I realized how relaxing it made me, so I thought, “I should turn this into a business.” I told my wife the idea, and she agreed and kept me on my toes to ensure I succeeded. While some may find cleaning tiresome or gross at times, I find it peaceful and rewarding to see the reactions that I get from my clients. I love making them happy.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some struggles I had along the way were consistency. In the cleaning business, you have to promote to get clients. Once I started promoting and consistently posting my work, I began to get bookings daily!

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Xclood organizing and cleaning services were built on hard work and recommendations. My clients love to tell other people about me. We specialize in housekeeping services and organization. We realize that sometimes life can get messy. We understand that kids, work, depression, anxiety, and just being busy might hinder our clients, so we help them reset by ensuring that after a messy day, they can come home to a stress-free environment as far as cleaning goes. Not only are we cleaning homes, but we are also eliminating stress.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always helpful, energetic, determined, and athletic. I am the youngest sibling, so I had a point to prove. My older siblings were always my best examples. They taught me how to remain consistent and never let me give up on anything. That’s why I am determined to be a successful, hardworking woman. I take pride in my work and will always do my best.
