The vision of Tiki Hut Life was inspired by creating clean products for our family to fit in with our lifestyle. With two full-of-energy boys, we have developed a love of making soaps together. My oldest is my biggest fan smelling every scent. He always wants to be involved in watching us formulate new products, and testing out new designs and packaging orders. It is inspiring to have our children learn and share their passion and be part of building a business from scratch.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The biggest challenge lately is sourcing materials. Our suppliers are often out of stock, changing order quantities, and fluctuating costs. We have changed the way we operate by ordering in larger volumes and driving to vendors to eliminate our shipping costs. All in the efforts to keep our prices affordable for our customers and maintain top-quality ingredients.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The unfortunate events of Covid-19 have changed many lives. As much as it had temporarily separated people, I believe it has brought us together more than ever and shown us many valuable lessons. The health of our bodies is the foundation of living a fulfilling life. We should all strive to provide our bodies with products without harmful chemicals, that provide nutrients and help us destress from our hectic lives.
One of the greatest struggles of the Covid-19 crisis has been the effect on the supply industry. Sourcing quality natural products is requiring more time and fewer options. Many suppliers have been forced to sell in larger bulk packages to keep costs down from prior years. Additionally, the shipping industry has been struggling with the crisis affecting their workforce and the ever-rising fuel costs.
The supply chain struggle has further driven us to prioritize our wellness and expand our support from others. People are resilient; with a holistic mission like ours and a positive mindset, they can overcome anything. A balanced lifestyle can empower us to adapt and move forward all while continuously being a positive role model for our families.
