Community Highlights: Meet Ivan Tenorio of Divine Shine Auto Detail

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivan Tenorio.

Hi Ivan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Starting in the summer of 2020 Divine Shine Auto Detail began with a few towels and some buckets.

Previously working as a server at The Cliffs near Lake Keowee I learned a lot from people about building your own opportunities and going all in on an idea. I always had an entrepreneurial spirit for being my own boss but it was now time to execute those plans.

With an opening wedge of some built relationships at my previous job, friends, and family members I slowly began to build a name for myself in the auto detailing service world at the initial starting period. And have never looked back since…

As of today, Divine Shine Auto Detail has also branched into the services of boat detailing, paint and gel coat correction restoration, and our main specialization, ceramic coating installations in the areas of Greenville, Salem, Six Mile, Pickens, Sunset, and in the near future the areas of Cashiers, Highlands, and Sapphire, NC.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
While it has been a pretty smooth journey, like any emerging company, it comes with its challenges.

The beginning stages are where I struggled the most, I was learning how to market, build my business, negotiate and communicate with clients, and set expectations.

Day-to-day operations, taking inventory, and keeping up with social media, were and at times can still be a bit overwhelming.

As you know, we’re big fans of Divine Shine Auto Detail. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Divine Shine is an auto detailing company that offers complete car details (interior and exterior cleaning), as well as ceramic coatings for cars and boats. Ceramic coatings are where Divine Shine has been branching out most these days.

Ceramic coatings ensure years of paint protection, prevents unsightly damage associated with aging and fading colors, and also reduce time and expenses related to the ongoing care and maintenance that would normally be put into a vehicle/boat. I would say Divine Shine stands apart because of the communication and the way clients are approached.

I strive to serve clients to the best of my ability day to day. I am proud of the outcome and reactions I see on my client’s faces when I have serviced their vehicles/boats, but mostly I am proud of the awareness that I have brought to my clients about proper car maintenance and education.

Clients are not just paying customers to me, but rather a relationship, building that trust factor and getting to know them individually is something I enjoy and see as of utmost importance.

What’s next?
This year, I hope to get my YouTube channel going, this would have content geared towards those weekend warriors who like to clean their own car and I would also like to showcase some of the methods behind why I do what I do, this would be a tool to educate potential clients on services that I offer and what they entail.

In the next few years, I am striving to have a facility where I can have clients bring their vehicles to me to service, this would be more convenient and efficient for the company to scale up.

Lastly, I would like to see my company become an establishment where I could hire on more employees and expand throughout the Carolinas upstate.
