Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelyn Osorio.
Hi Evelyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey began back in 2017 when I became as an independent consultant for a jewelry company that encouraged team building. I developed a team that accelerated pretty quickly within the ranks of the company and the team’s name was G-Squad (God Squad). Every day I hit the FB Live button to do live sales of the jewelry, creating a community that both shared my love for my faith and also jewelry accessories. Later in 2018, a little girl’s dream of owning her own fashion line started to rise to the surface and I began the process of taking the name G-Squad and branding it into a Christian apparel line. I naturally made the shift of selling jewelry to selling my own branded T-shirts on FB Lives 1 product at a time. Just at what seemed the peak of my success with GSquad Fashions I found myself forced to shut it all down towards the end of 2020. In that time, I walked very close to the Lord which led me to being relocated from Florida to Spartanburg SC. This is where the Lord opened the floodgates over my finances and at his leading, I opened what is known to be the 1st Christian brand of its kind in a mall. (So, I have been told. :))
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would love to say that it was a smooth ride, but it definitely wasn’t. The biggest obstacle was the relocation. I loved where I lived but I also understood that lining up with God’s will for my life was more important than my own desire to stay. The 2nd biggest obstacle was and sometimes still is being a one-man team for the most part, having no previous experience but still having to continue to be a student and learn as much as I can as I go. It can be overwhelming and at times even feel like you are behind everyone else. But my trust and faith continue to be in the one that called me to it. 🙂
As you know, we’re big fans of GSquad Fashions. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
GSquad Fashions is a Christian brand with a very direct and specific mission. “No Man Left Behind” We create our designs with that at the core of our brand. We believe in the return of the children of God and the souls that have yet to encounter God in their own lives. We believe in LOVING ppl right where they are just as He loved us and received us as we were. We specialize in delivering these messages on T-shirts, hoodies, sweaters, socks, etc. If I had to choose 1 thing, I am most proud of, it would have to be the way we have been able to stay related able, yet not bend in our faith and beliefs. We fully know and understand why we are here @ the Westgate Mall in Spartanburg SC. There are times when a customer comes in with a need for us to stand and believe with them and we pray with them right on spot! Our store is becoming known for a place the presence of the Lord is and those are the moments that are most fulfilling to me.
What does success mean to you?
To me, success is accomplishing what I was sent on this earth to do. Wealth is a great tool when used properly to further advance PURPOSE. If you have wealth but have no real reason to your existence you will quickly find out that all that wealth isn’t fulfilling, and it can actually be weaponized against you, your sound mind, and emotions. So, yes, knowing your purpose is the key to living a fulfilled life. “SUCCESS”
