Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Reichert.
Hi Daniela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am born in Berlin, Germany. Grew up in Freiburg -near the Black Forest. I always loved sports and dealing with people- but my first career was in Real Estate in Marbella, Spain, where I lived for 12 years. I really enjoyed showing beautiful homes and helping people find their dream homes.
In my late 20s, however ( already), I suffered from severe back and neck pain and migraines and so my health journey started. I fell in love with Pilates – first as a student then became an instructor- studied Personal Training and nutrition and finally transitioned from helping clients find their home to finding their health and wellbeing.
In 2015, I moved to Charleston, SC to be with my husband (who also has sports and health back then) and I opened up my boutique style Pilates Studio here in beautiful Summerville, SC.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Of course, at first, it was difficult to leave a “fixed salary job” to be self-employed but I don’t regret it at all. Opening a studio in the USA was actually very easy – I feel in Europe there is so much more paperwork, payments, and other headaches involved.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a small boutique-style studio in downtown Summerville, SC. Pilates is all about your health, understanding the body in front of you- designing an adequate workout for them.
Therefore we offer a lot of private sessions and our group classes are reduced to 4/6 people, making it still possible to adapt the workout to each client. We work with fit athletes, and healthy people, coming to the studio to stay mobile and improve their physical strength (Pilates works different muscles, fascia, ligaments, etc. Therefore, athletes use it, to be better at what they are doing).
We also specialize in working with “injured” people: Herniated discs, pre/post-operations, hip replacements, knee replacements, osteoporosis, scoliosis, just to name a few. Pilates is wonderful for – and I enjoy working with – pre and post-natal women. 100% of the women confirm birth and recovery from it is better with Pilates, and it helps during pregnancy with a different pain, breathing, and mobility.
Another amazing aspect of Pilates is its variety: Each workout is different, each day is different and it is great from “9 years to 99!!!”
How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
All of my Pilates Instructors have years of experience and have done several education programs and workshops. Therefore, it is not easy to find good and qualified instructors and I am always interested in having a bigger team since this area and my studio is growing.
Or course the best support are my clients. I am so grateful for my long-term clients, which the majority are the studio is almost like a second family, we all start to get to know each other and our lives, they always recommend us, sending new clients, who become part of the Pilates family.
New clients are always welcome.
