Check Out Ulonda D. Drayton Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ulonda D. Drayton.

Hi Ulonda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am married to Bernard O Drayton, Sr., and the mother of two, my daughter and my bonus son (our children), Adacia S Mitchell & Bernard O. Drayton, Jr.

Early on in life (around the age of 8 or 9) I always had the passion and drive for helping others. I would tell my mom all the time growing up that I wanted to be a family court judge. Why she would ask. And my answer would always be because I want to make a difference in the lives of every family. I felt deep down in my heart that if I could just sit down with any family that were in turmoil or were facing challenging moments, I could help them navigate through life legally and spiritually. This mindset for me went on all through middle school and early part of high school. Somewhere during high school, my mindset began to change. I then switched to being an elementary school teacher…still with the mindset of helping but now from the standpoint of helping out the kids while they’re young and still impressionable. By the time I graduated from high school and started college, my mindset began to change just a little more because the world was changing and evolving in the education sector (not evolving in a good way I thought). Now it was more so geared toward some form of business management. Maybe I would manage a group home or women’s shelter…something along those lines. As I was entering my sophomore year in college, I didn’t know my entire life would change and that I would begin to navigate my life in a major way. Navigating and redirecting my life so far off my authentic path and being authentically me that it would take years…18 to be exact…for me to begin to embrace my authentic journey by navigating through this thing called life…Learning that Life Happens but it doesn’t mean the end. It means finding another route that would yield an Authentic journey. I became pregnant and thought I needed to find a career path that would allow me to provide for my child and me. So here comes redirected moment number 1, Change my major to Business Administration with emphasis on Information Systems and Minor in Computer Science. Surely this would yield a nice income so that I could provide for us. So now I’ve gone far away from what I’m passionate about, what I was created to do, and the path I was created to travel so that I can make enough money to survive… or so I thought. Through the next 10 years, I quickly realized that it didn’t matter what career path I took, I was always helping someone in what I like to call my Parking Lot ministry, bathroom ministry, restroom ministry, store ministry, anywhere I was ministry. Women naturally gravitated towards me as if they could see an x-ray of my internal passion for helping guide/navigate others through their life journey. This is where Life Navigator was born because I finally accepted my purpose. I’m more driven now than ever to help women transition through life beautifully by encouraging them to navigate through the Life Happen moments while staying true to their passion and purpose. Life Happens! Let me help you overcome the uncertainty and navigate back to your true Purpose!

I wrote my first book, “Navigate Your Life”, that gives a step-by-step guide on how to blend your passion with God’s purpose. You can purchase my book by visiting https://www.ulondaddrayton.com/navigate-your-life. I created a FB Private group, “Beyond the Crossroad”, for women to come to be Empowered and Inspired to Impact the world by walking authentically in their purpose. And on the horizon is the constructing of “The Morphing Place”, a future space where women can come to be loved on and nurtured through life’s extreme challenges and circumstances and get back on track. Also, an upcoming video Podcast, “The Authentic Journey” that will help women Make that left turn from stuck lane, leave Basic Boulevard and ditch feeling average on the avenue, and embrace the life you desire!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to helping others be empowered and inspired to impact the world with purpose is never smooth. I would say my biggest challenge has been being the first partaker of life lessons, detours, obstacles, and challenges all while still helping others do the same thing. This adds to the authenticity and transparency so the people I’m helping will know that they’re not alone and if God can bring me out then He most definitely can bring them out.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Test & Evaluation Engineer by trade and by design a Life Navigator to women, especially of faith or in corporate America, who want to discover their purpose and authentically walk in their purpose if it’s passionately connected to their 9 to 5 or Entrepreneurial endeavors. Wanting to make a positive impact to help families and parents,

My corporate America job in test and evaluation ended up being the bridge to helping everyday women with personal life issues. I realized that there are tons of women working in corporate America either did not know their purpose or were trying to avoid it. I want women to know the power and authority they have in knowing who they really are.

I encourage women to focus on their life’s journey. “Your life’s journey is your life journey; you just have to learn how to embrace it and navigate through it! We all have a divine blueprint that is different from the next.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The only person you should be in a competition with is the next version of You!

You have the best Super Power in the entire world…there is No ONE else like you.

God is always in Control!

Trust the Process!

Your Purpose will Always find you! Welcome it with open arms!
