Check Out Shenika Waring’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shenika Waring. 

Hi Shenika, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I always wanted to obtain my LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license so that I could help others from a mental health/well-being standpoint. My favorite color is purple and as a counselor people talk to you so the name Royal Statements was birthed. I was still in the process of finding a supervisor for my hours and my husband encouraged me to begin crafting. At first, I was hesitant because I did not think that I could craft anything. I started creating wreaths and door hangers. Once I purchased my first cutting machine a Cricut and began learning how to design in Photoshop my imagination/drive to create grew. I have been in business since 2016 and now I still create, help others learn how to create, and have become an author twice! 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. I have had to learn how to manage my business to let it run effectively. As a wife and mother learning how to balance is extremely important. I must say that I love a challenge and managing my time has been one. There has been a learning curve for me and my family has made adjustments as a whole to ensure that we still function well and our businesses are successful. 

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in helping others solve their problems! My business creates designs for your home and life offering custom shirts, stationery, party items, digital templates, mugs, and social media content. We can assist businesses seeking items for merchandise, help entrepreneurs figure out social media, and the person seeking personalized items for any special occasion. 

I am most proud of the two books I have released. 

“F.E.A.R: Free From Everything And Relieved” as it discusses how to overcome fear. 

“6 Ways to Gain Success” E-book focuses on how anyone can obtain success (you don’t have to be an entrepreneur). 

My drive and dedication to my art and my clients sets me apart from others. I have a unique style when creating and no item will ever be the same. My love for God, people, and life are the driving force behind what I do. We are all unique individuals and I always add in my bright personality when creating. 

Each week I host a “6 Minutes of Success With Shenika” and challenge my viewers to define what success means for them and how to obtain this success they deem necessary. This can be found on my YouTube Channel as well as my IG. 

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
When seeking a mentor, it is important to ensure that the person’s personality is a good fit for you. Anyone can offer advice but you have to make sure that what you are obtaining lines up with who you are and your vision/mission/goals. 

I have been able to bond with some wonderful people who have helped me take my business to the next level. When you find like-minded people, you don’t feel worried about sharing what plans you have for your business. It is of utmost importance that you surround yourself with those who will uplift and keep you on track. 

I have also gleaned a LOT from my coach! She has allowed me to see things from a different perspective and challenges me a lot to help propel me forward.
