Check Out Sharon Fletcher’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Fletcher.

Sharon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Sharon Fletcher and I am the owner of Refreshing Moments with Sharon. I help refresh, restore and rejuvenate women through my faith-based blog and home fragrance goods. I am the wife of William Fletcher, Jr, and mother to 3 amazing children, Aaron, Kristyn, and Andrew.

The loss of my brother in 2010, followed by the loss of my dad in 2016 marked an exceptionally long and difficult period of my life. I struggled with deep depression, anger, and frustration. I had lost all confidence in myself and, quite honestly, in God. I was physically, mentally, and spiritually exhausted.

I was struggling to fully show up as a wife and a mom, and truly be all that God created me to be. I decided to totally surrender it all to God. I gained encouragement through the Word of God and my local church. My faith and hope were restored, and I found that it was a lot easier to show up in life.

Through talking to other women along the way, I found that we all were experiencing the same things in different ways. It is extremely difficult to be the wife, mom, entrepreneur, employee, or friend that you can possibly be if you are operating from a place of discouragement. So in 2018, I began writing inspirational messages to these women to be a source of uplifting and encouragement through the Word of God.

One of the things that I would do to set the atmosphere when I sat down to have quiet time or unwind at the end of the day is to light a candle. The gentle flicker of the flame, the soft glow of the candle, and the relaxing fragrance were just what I needed for refreshment.

One day, I decided that I wanted to share those moments and times of refreshing with other women. In 2020, during a pandemic, (and having no clue of how saturated the market was, lol), God opened doors for me to start our line of fine home fragrance goods, which consists of coconut wax candles and room and linen sprays.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It certainly has not been easy, but, what in life worth having is?

I would say the biggest struggle for me was figuring out where to find my target market. You can have the best product in the world, but it will not sell if the product is in the wrong place. Once I figured that out, things got a lot easier.

Another obstacle for me was my mindset. I had to learn to not question my worth or the quality of my products based on an isolated situation or market. My motto has become, “Trust God and Take Nothing Personally.”

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We offer a beautiful line of fine home fragrance goods that are made with the highest quality ingredients available.

Our candles are made with coconut wax, which is a clean-burning, nontoxic, all-natural wax. We also use high-quality fragrance oils that are free from environmental toxins and carcinogens. It is important to us that we not only offer a great product but a great experience.

We keep that in mind each time we meet someone at a market or ship an order online. We are more concerned about the person than the pocket. Our goal is for everyone that we come in contact with to feel that they are valued and loved because they are.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
That’s so hard to pinpoint just one great childhood memory.

God has been so kind. But, I would say that Christmases in the Maynor household were magical to us.

It wasn’t because we had the grandest gifts or anything material, but we were always all together, and there was so much love during those times.

I’m sure they’re both proud of what you have accomplished: being a great mom, wife and businesswoman! Keep praising God and He’ll continue to bless you!
