Check Out Jordan Humphrey’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Humphrey.

Hi Jordan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Honestly, I have no idea. I am a planner. I need a plan for everything. Nothing in my life has gone according to that plan. I will graduate with a bachelor’s in business administration this year. As an overwhelmed single mom of two, I have learned I like making more difficult on myself. As if the stress of college wasn’t enough, I woke up and decided to take the state insurance exam.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Have you ever seen rock crawlers trying to top a mountain? “I think I can; I think I can.” I have learned the people closest to you will be most likely the ones to walk away. Those that bring negativity into life with no support are not tolerated. For so long, I felt I had to prove myself.  Needed Validation. I took that and let it fuel my ambition. No one cares when you’re building your empire. It’s after the empire is built that people want to take part. I have suffered a lot of trials. God has used it to shape me into the strong person I am.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business is in insurance. Licensed by the state of South Carolina in Life, Accident, health, and sickness. So many clients I have spoken with have vented about the aggressive nature of other agents in the field. Clients have allowed me to look at policies’ agents have enrolled them in, and it amazes me. Clients have no knowledge of the policy, what it is, nor what it consists of. These policies are not what fit the client’s needs. Clients are given whatever policy has the highest commission rate.

My clients are special to me. I treat them like a best friend or family. I will ask hard questions other agents are scared to ask. Not only that, but I want to know the client’s budget, health scares, and any other personal information. I find what works for my client in all aspects of their life.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Being in life insurance is not for the weak. Rejection must not be taken to heart. Out of 500 leads, 499 of them could say no. Learning to stay emotionally detached because it’s life insurance. If that client passes, one of the first to be notified is the insurance agent. That claim has to be filed. This is something I have trouble doing. Each client is meaningful to me, and next-of-kin calls will cause a heart to drop.
