Check Out John Martin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to John Martin.

John Martin

Hi John, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I spent 18 years of my life homeless, battling mental health and drug and alcohol addiction. On April 24th, 2016, I met my wife, Cassandra. The day I met her, she changed my whole world. After hearing about how her Grandmother used to make Sunday dinner and how No matter what you were going through, you could always get Sunday Dinner, we thought about the Men and Women who were Homeless, the ones who usually are the forgotten ones. We thought how nice it would be if we fed them. So, in December, we will hand out our 50,000 meals.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When dealing with people without homes, you will always get negative feedback, but it’s usually from the people with a home and all the Beautiful things you dream about.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So, on Sundays, we feed approximately 200 men and women. During the week, I take them to get IDS to work, wash clothes, or get to treatment.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Show love with no stipulations.
