Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
Hello, My Name is Dru Dash. I’m the Owner and CEO of Digital Dash Productions. I’m a visionary entrepreneur and the driving force behind Digital Dash Productions, a cutting-edge media company based in Charleston, South Carolina. I’ve developed a passion for media and entertainment from a young age. Being able to work with Thundercat DJs back in 2008 doing photography and club promotions, I grew a passion for wanting to create the moment while it’s happening. After wanting to do more, I started podcasting with Do Work Radio, which became Do Work Media. With Do Work, I was learning the ropes, and I also podcasted with Emeka Swain, the owner and CEO of Do Work Media, and his wife, Vaughn Postema-Swain. With Do Work, I’ve recorded 100 + Episodes with a podcast called Coffee & Dutches before engineering over 200+ episodes for various clients.
In 2021, Dru founded Digital Dash Productions to create captivating content that resonates with audiences profoundly. Under his leadership, the company has grown exponentially, becoming a trusted name known for its creativity, professionalism, and commitment to excellence.
In September 2023, I was named—headed production for Bovtique Fashion Week by the Owner and CEO Franck Millie. Bovtiqve Fashion Week was created to establish a foundation of fashion and business trade and increase economic and creative development in fashion design, clothing, merchandising, event production, and modeling. BVFW is held twice a year, in February and September. By rotating cities for every edition, BVFW provides a major American city the platform to make a significant impression on a critical fashion industry sector. It also highlights a city’s capacity to thrive within the growth of one of the most profitable industries in the world.
Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every day is a new day to create, but also do what you love to do. In this industry, you’re going to have your struggles, you’re going to have your ups, you’re going to have your downs, but you have 24 hours in the day. How do you want to spend it each and every day? Despite the struggle, I can teach myself something, even if the work is slower than other days. I’m just never going to stay in that mindset of that struggle or that low feeling. I love what I do! I will find a way to push through the struggle to reach where I want to go.

Can you talk to us about happiness and what makes you happy?
Honestly, life, in general, makes me happy. Being able to wake up every day to put a smile on people’s faces and create people’s visions, as well as living out my dreams and aspirations, makes me the happiest. I have a lot of reasons to smile every day, including my fantastic girlfriend, friends, and family.
