Check Out Chelsea Elizabeth’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chelsea Elizabeth.

Hi Chelsea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated with nutrition, health, and diet. I became an esthetician after having my son in 2009 in the state of Washington. Ironically, I attended a renowned skincare school called The Euro Institute of Skincare, that not only offered training in traditional European skin care techniques, but also education in holistic methods, such as Naturopathy and Ayurveda.

For those of you that do not know what holistic is, it is a whole-body approach to wellness with the belief that the body, mind, and spirit are interconnected.  I honestly remember falling in love with holístics right away.  The idea of treating the body from the inside-out and the connectedness of the entire body was fascinating.

After graduating I entered the world of aesthetics and have served time in full body waxing, luxury day spas, retail cosmetics, makeup artistry to medical. After working for over a decade in the industry I am tying together my love for skincare and holistic wellness to create Selah Sanctuary, LLC.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Entrepreneurship is not for everyone. It takes a specific type of person to have the trust to go out on their own to support themselves vs. having a steady, guaranteed monthly income from an employer.  I always knew my talent and skill was valuable, but having the faith to push into the unknown was my biggest obstacle.

I remember worrying at the beginning of every month wondering how I was going to make ends meet and then looking back at the end of each month like, “I did that. I made that happen.”  My business started very small and has consistently grown and expanded over the last few years by word of mouth and referral only. Yes, there have been challenges and obstacles, but growth is organic and inevitable when you have passion and consistency. Success happens.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a holistic esthetician, so I believe in #1 treating skin health as a whole entity: mind, body, and spirit and #2 beauty from the inside out vs. just treating the outer layer epidermis. I specialize in upper body and facial massage, cranial acupressure, and lymphatic drainage.  My facial massage techniques, the time, and attention to detail set me apart from other estheticians.

In my Signature custom facials, I integrate sound therapy, light therapy, Reiki, and crystals. Deep healing relaxation, giving the body time and space to stop and breathe, and stillness creates a unique radiant glow for my clients that you can see and feel. Along with an extremely thorough deep, refreshing cleanse and exfoliation, your skin is left extraordinarily hydrated and your energy refreshed.

Can you talk to us about the role of luck?
Luck by definition means “events or circumstances considered favorable or unfavorable, often without any apparent explanation or cause perceived as a random or chance event beyond one’s control; luck is often associated with superstition, fate, or destiny.”

According to this definition, Selah’s Sanctuary, LLC is considered 45% luck and 55% consistency. Selah is an entity I set out to create intentionally, but it also grew organically from inevitable natural occurring circumstances stemming from doing what I love. One of Selah’s luckiest, most favorable contributors are the people I get to serve. I have met incredibly unique people and hope to meet many more. My work is so pleasurable without any apparent explanation or cause so I guess in that sense I am very lucky.
