Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up attached to a mirror and playing with children’s makeup for hours, I gained an enormous connection to the beauty industry! As early as the age of 12 I began being gifted real makeup!! From the drugstore. But hey that was a big upgrade from my princess makeup kit. As the years passed by my love for everything beauty-related only grew more so after being gifted an iPad I began watching YouTube tutorials day and night! Watched a little bit of everything content creators came out with at that time from makeup product reviews, skincare routines, celebrity makeovers, and other beauty gurus’ channels. I learned so much from practicing on myself that by the age of 16 I began doing makeup for my friends and family for their special occasions. I was in high school so I even glammed more girls and gained lots of practice that I carried on my freelance passion throughout the years. I am now 21 years old, still, the passion-filled girl I was except now I am carrying out my own small beauty business and making my dreams a reality. One day at a time I am still learning and excelling in the city of Charleston, bringing smiles and giving confidence-boosting makeovers by applying lash extensions and makeup to my gorgeous clients all over the state of South Carolina! As for how this is just the beginning and I am soon to be extending my services this year I encourage you all to follow and support another woman-owned business.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a certified lash tech, who offers various styles of extensions. From classics to hybrids and volume lashes. About 85% of my lash clientele come to me for the classic lashes as they are more into the everyday natural look and I deliver that each time. I completely understand my clients’ concerns when it comes to retention and do my best to share the best tips that I use myself when working out, working my hospital job, and makeup removal with lashes. I don’t leave my clients clueless and that is what is most important for their lash health. As also being a traditional makeup artist, I am most booked for offering on-site services all over the state. When being reached out I answer all my clients’ questions and help them out with any decisions that need to be made as if I was getting ready for my event. I make sure I leave my clients at the end of their appointment worried and stress-free looking their best! I always go out of my way with helping others on site, especially at weddings, an extra hand is always needed somewhere as I for the most part already have the date reserved for your event as requested.
What makes you happy?
I am the happiest when I’m finally able to hand my client the mirror for her first look, after makeup application or lash service! For some of my clients, the moment is even more special when it is their first time having their makeup professionally done, that happy sparkle in their eyes is such a great feeling, knowing this client is going to leave happier and more confident than ever!! I am instantly my happiest when doing makeup and lashes, wouldn’t trade my place right now for anything. These are the moments that I prayed and cried for several times before. With that being said no matter how tiring or lengthy of a process it can become to accomplish the rest of my goals within this industry I do not plan on giving up!
