Check Out Ashley Windham’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Windham.

Ashley Windham

Hi Ashley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Hi, my name is Ashley Monique Windham, and I am a 33 yr old entrepreneur from a city called Florence in SC. As a child, I grew up in and out of the hospital because I was diagnosed with an illness early and given up by doctors at the age of 2. My mother, who was a single mom, gave me everything she could to shower my sister and me with love. Although being sick played a major part in my being confined to one small space all day, that only made my vision of being an entrepreneur even greater; at the age of 15, I landed my first job working in a local clothing store in our mall called “soul to sole” where I learned so much about fashion itself. As the years passed, my passion for assisting with beautifying others became even larger and an everyday thing. Not only would I design and make things, but I also began to grow an interest in hair extensions, and before you knew it, I was selling hair and working 2 jobs to help fund my business. By 2012 I was pregnant with my son and running full force from my car to any local pick-up spots to meet these customers who also believed in me. After being at the wrong place at the wrong time, going to jail, and becoming a convicted felon, I had no choice but to give it my all, being that no one would hire me at all. So as the years grew, I did my business at Amorenadore LLC, and as of May 20, 2023, I now have my first physical location in Florence Amorenadore LLC salon/boutique. I never gave up and stayed consistent. I made a plan and worked my plan, and that’s the story of Amorenadore LLC.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing about being a business owner came smoothly to me. In the beginning, building clientele was the absolute hardest, as well as finding trustworthy vendors.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
So I would see myself as someone who helps people open their eyes to the fashion world. Whether purchasing hair extensions or grabbing a unique outfit, I’m here to help. I would have to say that it’s almost been 15 years, and out of sickness and life itself, I never gave up on my brand. I would have to say what sets me apart from others is there is no wave I rather ride but my own I try to be different with everything I do. My willingness to help someone and also push someone to step out on faith and start a business, no matter if it’s the same as mine, is another thing that sets Ashley apart from others.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is giving my customers the best and letting them know this is home. I’m willing to assist in any way I say this because good customer service is hard to come by, and I try to give the customer service I would want to receive if I was on the other end of the table.
