Hi Portia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I always knew I wanted to work for myself, but I just couldn’t put my finger on exactly what it was that I wanted to do. During the pandemic, the feeling hit me harder than ever before to find my passion.
I decided to book a spa day out of town for some much-needed self-care and wanted to have my teeth whitened, but couldn’t find a spa locally that would give me the results, and the ambiance that I was looking for. I decided to book an appointment out of town and had an amazing experience. My technician explained to me the training process.
I did some research, paid my tuition, and enrolled in the class. The rest is history. Your smile is the first thing people see and I really enjoy helping people find the confidence within their smile.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but with the help of family and friends, I’m finding my way. The first goal I set was that this business should pay for itself I didn’t want to pull any of my personal funds to pay for it.
I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary and I have learned so much about running a business. I feel as if I work 24/7, but it’s definitely worth it.
We’ve been impressed with The Lindsay Experience LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Lindsay Experience LLC is a luxury teeth whitening spa located in Greenville, SC. We specialize in teeth whitening services, as well as training. Our company is known for providing excellent customer service, and results that exceed our client’s expectations, I believe what sets us apart is that we specialize in educating our clients about the importance of oral health, and not just the cosmetic advantages of teeth whitening.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to give myself grace. Running a business is hard work. It’s a lot of sleepless nights, it’s falling and getting back up again. It’s not perfect and neither am I.
I have learned to be patient with myself and acknowledge that this is all new to me and it’s okay if I make mistakes. The mistakes will only make me and my business better.
