Rising Stars: Meet Sydney Wigington of Piedmont, South Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Wigington.

Hi Sydney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2020, we were in the beginning stages of building our forever home. I decided around Christmas that year to start documenting not only home and life style content, but also documenting our owner contracted home build. That’s when ‘Simply Sydney’ was started.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely been an interesting road. I feel like “influencing” days are over and people just want authentic, relatable, and practical content.
For a while, I tried to build content based on what I saw others do or what was trending. To be honest, that was hard because it wasn’t me.
Once I realized just being authentic and sharing what you love regardless of what’s trending, it became a lot easier to build my brand.
From my instagram platform, I just recently launched my own website and online farm store. That’s been such a fun part of this journey, being able to have a curated space for all of my ideas and things that I love outside of social media.
Someone told me, “when God plants a dream in your heart, chase it.” And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Well… I wear a lot of hats. I just recently stepped out of the classroom of 13 years to have more time at home and with my boys, they’re 7 and 2. I am still connected to education, one of my roles is supervising student teachers for Clemson University, Go Tigers!
I own and run Simply Sydney. I blog and share lifestyle, home, and garden content on my instagram platform. I also recently launched my own website and online farm store, www.simplysydneyw.com. There I blog about lifestyle, home, and gardening. It also has small store of curated items for home and garden.
I also co/own The Farm at Newell with my sister in law, we launched it in Fall 2024 as a fall event featuring our family’s century farm.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
On my platform and in my online store, simplysydneyw.com, I offer a variety of curated items for home, garden, and lifestyle.
My passion is small business owners and entrepreneurs. I love to partner with local artisans for products to feature in my store front. If you’re a local creator, I’d love to chat with you about a possible collaboration!
