Rising Stars: Meet Natalie Beck of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Beck.

Hi Natalie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started out as a professional dancer, performing for almost 20 years. Being on stage taught me how important storytelling and connection really is.

Like so many people, everything shifted during the pandemic. Overnight, the world I knew disappeared, and I found myself reevaluating what life would look like off stage. I realized I had always been documenting life in my own way — photographing meals, capturing moments from trips, and even creating travel guides for family and friends. That naturally turned into creating content.

During that time, my husband and I sold our home and spent a season moving around the country, exploring new places while trying to figure out what was next. That’s when I created “There and BECK” – to share our couple travels and adventures. What began as a creative outlet, started to take on more intention – sharing travel guides and experiences that felt relatable. I love the art of video editing, it feels like choreography to me.

That chapter of moving around was both exciting and grounding, and eventually it led us back to Myrtle Beach. I began highlighting the local businesses and growing community that make this area special, while also sharing travel, lifestyle, and everyday moments along the way. Whether it’s a local date night, a road trip, a cruise, or a bigger adventure, I love helping people feel inspired and excited about travel in all forms — I always say, adventure your backyard.

Alongside that, I began working with brands to create original content they could use across their marketing.

Getting here wasn’t a straight line, but it’s shaped me in ways I’m grateful for. This chapter is a second act, and I’m learning to trust the path as it unfolds.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Stepping away from a dance career wasn’t something I had planned for, and losing that identity was difficult to navigate. Starting over creatively meant learning how to exist in a completely different space—one that required not just creativity, but patience.

There was a learning curve on the business side of content creation: understanding contracts, valuing my time and skills, and I had to learn how to advocate for myself, set boundaries, and say no to opportunities that didn’t always align—even when it felt uncomfortable or tempting to accept everything.

There have been moments of doubt, especially when growth hasn’t looked the way I imagined or moved as quickly as I hoped. Building something new without a clear roadmap has required a lot of trust in myself, and that’s still something I’m learning.

At the same time, those challenges forced me to slow down, get clear on what mattered, and redefine what success looked like for me. The growth hasn’t always been comfortable, but it’s been meaningful. Looking back, many of the harder moments were the ones that pushed me toward more alignment, creativity, and purpose.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Through There and BECK, I create visual content rooted in storytelling. I highlight local businesses and destinations, while also sharing everyday moments. I love the idea that adventure doesn’t have to be far away for someone to experience it — sometimes it’s a local staycation, a road trip, or a cruise — but it’s always about helping people feel inspired to explore.

Alongside my personal platform, I also create UGC for brands, developing original content they can use across their marketing while still feeling natural and relatable.

What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built within my community. When someone comes back asking for a travel idea, a date night spot, or feedback on a brand, it tells me they truly value my perspective. Hearing that someone loved a place I shared or used an itinerary I put together is incredibly rewarding. I’ve been intentional about only sharing what genuinely aligns with me, even when that meant growing slower.

What sets me apart is my background in performance and storytelling. Dance taught me how to communicate through timing, movement, and emotion, and I bring that same mindset into my content. Editing feels like choreography to me — I care deeply about flow, connection, and making people feel something.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think the creator space is shifting toward authenticity, with people craving more relatable storytelling and honest experiences over polished content. Trust and real connection are starting to matter more than perfection or follower count.
Brands are already leaning into this through UGC and creator-led campaigns, and I think that will only continue to grow. For me, that shift has been both exciting and challenging. It’s pushed me to unlearn some of my performer instincts and lean more into showing up as myself, not just presenting something. I think that evolution is where real growth happens — for creators and for the industry as a whole.
