Today we’d like to introduce you to Klara Dewberry.
Klara, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started out flipping properties—what began as a business decision quickly turned into a creative obsession. I found myself deeply invested in every detail: the texture of the walls, the feeling of the space, the way a room has the power to impact your mood.
I didn’t come from a traditional design background, but I led with instinct. My European roots gave me what i found set me apart, and my hands-on experience taught me how to bring vision to life under pressure.
Over time, my flips evolved into fully custom spaces and clients who wanted more and requested more design services like furnishing and drapery etc. Now, I create deeply inentional, soulful, and layered interiors with just the right edge. Every project is personal, and every space starts with a feeling.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. It’s been anything but smooth—and I think that’s part of what shaped my style and actually made the business women i am today.
Starting without formal design training was challenging and meant I had to teach myself and prove myself through instinct, taste, and execution. However, every challenge taught me how to trust my eye, my gut and refine my process.
There were moments I felt behind or underestimated especially in a space where credentials often speak louder than creativity.
Working solo has also been a challenge—balancing the creative with the logistical, making every decision, wearing every hat. But in all of it, I am at a place now where i found clarity through hardship, my favourite and strongest suit. I learned to trust that how I see and feel things IS the edge. And that’s what clients come to me for now.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I design spaces that feel like someone’s favorite version of home—refined, layered, and deeply personal. My work is rooted in storytelling and emotion, not trends or performative design.
I specialize in remodels, full-service interiors, creative direction, and thoughtful sourcing—especially antique and art-driven pieces that add soul and history. Clients often come to me overwhelmed by choice, and I help them see clearly—turning chaos into calm, and ideas into something tangible and intentional.
I’m proud of the way I work. It’s intuitive, but grounded. Structured, but never rigid. I don’t just look at a space—I feel it. I sense what’s off, what’s missing, what it could become. My process is driven by instinct, not just strategy. I don’t push a one-size-fits-all style—I listen, I observe, and I build spaces that reflect who someone actually is.
What sets me apart is that I never design just to impress—I design to connect. My European sensibility brings in warmth and restraint, and my approach always leaves room for the unexpected. That tension between comfort and edge… that’s where the magic happens.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Having energy, lol.
But truly—one of my favorite childhood memories is spending long summer days at my late grandmother’s home and in her garden. It was colorful, warm, and full of soul—just like her. I felt completely at peace and safe there.
That, and all the family travels we did growing up, are memories I hold closest. They shaped the way I see beauty, comfort, and the feeling of home.
