Rising Stars: Meet Kate Jeanne Photo Co of NY + East Coast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Jeanne Photo Co.

Hi Kate Jeanne, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
With a background in interior design and over five years of experience at an architecture firm, Kate’s creative foundation is rooted in an expert understanding of composition, form, and attention to detail. Kate will always have a special place in her heart for interior design and is intentional with pouring that into her photography.

Her journey into photography began when she was gifted her father’s film camera— something that was close to home and had always admired. For several years, she balanced both photography and a full time office job, until the summer of 2024, when a quiet certainty set in: it was time to step fully into her calling.
That decision marked a new season – one dedicated to serving others through the art of timeless, intentional imagery.

Kate began full time in April, 2025. With the official launch the photography business has already exploded in such a beautiful way. Exploding creative boundaries was the goal for 2025 as Kate began full time and not to be afraid of failure. Without failure is no growth. A learning experience as well is to also be comfortable with the uncomfortable.

Now Kate is working exclusively with couples across the country and beyond. Digital format, film format and super 8 video have all been added to the experience of the gallery to add depth and bring back the routes of what inspired Kate in the first place.

Kate offers a photography experience defined by editorial elegance and emotional presence. For clients who value storytelling with substance, Kate delivers galleries that are as enduring as the moments themselves—crafted with care, artistry, and a distinctly elevated point of view.

The goal is to continue to reach individuals country-wide and continue to push the creative boundaries and create each wedding as a unique moment in time.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall I had juggled both longer than I should have. Looking back if I could have left last year I would so I could have started my education, mentorships and diving with two feet in even sooner.

There are always ways to learn and invest back in a business. Doing so I have learned is the best way for growth. The biggest challenge had been to make it unique and my own. Branding has been a big way to get that experience. I am still working on putting together the best experience possible for my clients.

Communication, timeliness and deliverance are all things that need to always be met.

Niching down as well had been hard since wanting to serve everyone has been something I had thought in the past would be the best experience. Now, I can tailor to my client experience and to my clients so I serve them the best I can from start to end.

Networking is my biggest priority. It isn’t just the photos, it’s the overall experience and what we serve together as a team. The vendor’s experience with my service is just as important to me.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I strive to create a thoughtful experience for my couples by being fully present.
Tuned into the energy of the day, and knowing when to lead and when to simply observe.
My goal is always to document a wedding as it truly unfolds, with a timeless, artful lens while creating my artist style that sets me apart.

I am proud of the travel photography experience this season brought me to incredible places like Honolulu, Hawaii, Charleston, SC and Oregon. These travel experiences such as Charleston allows me to learn the area and better serve the next couple the next time I am back.

What sets me apart is the way I approach photos and lighting situations. I have a refined editorial and luxury approach. I am known for my flash photography skills.
Another importance is capturing the moments the couple may not see. I don’t just capture the highlights—I create space for the in-between, the unscripted, the quiet. That’s where the magic lives.

What matters most to you? Why?
Preserving the emotions of the day, and the individuals who made it there. Each smile, tear, and embrace tells a story of connection and love. Details, things that you don’t notice that I was able to sit back and take a look at differently through my lens.

Couple’s experience – When couples feel calm and cared for, their true emotions naturally emerge. This gentle connection allows me to capture moments that are intimate and genuine, making each story uniquely theirs. Getting to know people is also something that I deeply care about, I am a people person and love to connect with individuals. That’s not only the case for the bride and groom, but for the family and guests as well.
