Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Miller
Hi Jeremy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
A young man with an innate musical talent, DJ Trixx (Jeremy Miller) dove into music straight out of high school, playing in bands before discovering the world of Florida breaks music at 18. After being invited to a rave, he became captivated by the genre and soon began DJing. His journey took a pivotal turn when he partnered with Mindcycle Productions, leading him to produce tracks and tour the nation alongside legendary artists like Cosmic Gate, Voodoo and Serano, Factor E, Hudda Hudia, and more. As the music world transitioned to digital, Trixx signed with Carbon, the iconic Miami bass collective founded by members of 2 Live Crew, and started live streaming from his home studio in Greenville.
Known for his dynamic approach to breaks, DJ Trixx offers a track selection that blows minds and warps listeners’ brains. Each mix is meticulously curated to deliver a unique experience, offering an escape from reality through music. For him, music has always been a powerful form of self-expression, providing a way to connect with others. His goal is simple: to create lasting moments on the dance floor, delivering an unforgettable experience that fans will cherish forever. Jeremy is now 41 and resides in Greenville, SC.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the hardest things for me was battling addiction at home and trying to keep myself focused as an artist on the road. Troubled relationships and custody battles were constantly driving me to self destruct. I was so grateful for the people that believed in me and refused to let me go unloved and stood by me through it all. We all have a story and I guess for me it’s important to include the ugly parts because in the end they made me who I am today. I’ve learned that there is nothing you can’t overcome in your life if you have true friends and family who love and support you. And ofcourse you have to find a way to get all those emotions out in a positive way. For me it shows up in my production. I can always go back and listen to mixes from years ago and know, just from the sound, what I was going through at the time. I’ve since found recovery and happiness and a partner who loves me no matter what and I’m blessed to be here.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Florida breaks DJ and producer specializing in live mixes for clubs and festivals. What sets me apart is my deep and unconventional track selection. I’m known for digging beyond the surface to find music no one’s ever heard before, going against the grain of DJs who stick to popular trends. My mission is to keep the energy fresh and unexpected, giving audiences a truly unique experience.
I’m most proud of my collaboration with Rick Ferrell and Carbon in Tampa. Together, we built five live-stage green screen studios, creating exclusive mixes that showcased our passion and innovation. One of the highlights of my career has been the impact we’ve made through “The Record Bag Show,” an online radio show reaching countless people and sharing our love for the music. It’s a testament to the power of creativity and connection in the breaks community.
How do you think about happiness?
Spending time with Missy my fiance and fishing. As fast as my life was for many years it’s great to just be in the presence of your best friend and soul mate and just laugh at silly videos. Then there’s my obsession with fishing. All year. At all times I fish. And I’m good at it.
