Today we’d like to introduce you to Isiah Kinloch
Hi Isiah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started tattooing as early as 2007, being that I could draw really well my friends encourage me to become a Tattoo Artist, I was sorta against it because I knew nothing of it but one day I was coming home and they surprise me with Tattoosupply stuff from this company called Inkcraft.biz, which is no longer around. From that point I was practicing on fake skin and practicing on my friends and then one day I just decided to wanna take it further, and so I grind as hard as I could to make it go further than where I was out of everything I have done tattooing has stuck with me the longest from building houses making shoes doing carpentry and other side jobs this has lasted the longest, after years of tattooing outside of a shop. I finally wanted to join the big leagues and I went around in 2009 applying for an apprenticeship to better myself. I receive a call back in 2010 December 18 from one of the places that I placed a resume at called Rockstar Tattoo Studio Goose Creek SC and thus began my journey to becoming a licensed Tattoo Artist. I have tattooed at a lot of the phenomenal shops around the area Blue gorrilla, Artistic Ink, which is now called Black water tattoo, Black Sparrow, broken lantern, breakthrough, and even some out of the state tattoo shops like Main Street tattoo in Georgia, Aart Accent Tattoo New Orleans owned by ms Jacci Gresham, and Black Ink tattoo studio in New York all of this before October 5, 2019 in which is the date that I purchased my own TattooShop. I went back to where I started and I bought it from the original owner Josh Badget that’s creating my TattooShop right caring tattoo studio over the years. I’ve met great men and women who have come to work with me at the studio and then I went and purchased a second shop less than a year later which also prosper before me selling to purchase a home in November 2023. I am very thankful for all the men and women who have joined me on my crusade to growth.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road, dealing with my past troubles and my mindset, which not only has gave me fortune and great things but also problems of cleaning up my past to make a better future
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love tattooing, I have no set area where I specialize in. I am in all around Tattoo Artist and my coworkers well know me for doing amazing coverups that most people would turn away.
What does success mean to you?
I define success by how many times you get back up and learn from your mistakes to better your self I myself am learning if it was it would be sent for you but not everything that is sent for you is worth receiving, know what to accept and what not.
