Rising Stars: Meet Daisha Blake of Rock hill, SC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daisha Blake

Hi Daisha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Back in 2020 when Covid took over, I decided to take on a new adventure. That adventure was makeup. Before taking it serious, I would play with makeup here and there. A little mascara and highlighter would be enough for me . But, then I decided to wanted to able to do my entire face or “full glam” is what the girls call it. It also helped me with saving money since makeup can be expensive to get done professionally. Overall, seeing other women do it inspired me to get up and try. I’m so grateful I did because it has given me so many opportunities to work with different brands as far as makeup and skin. I’m super excited to work with more in the future and to continue using my makeup skills to help others as well.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been easy. There have been plenty of days where I wanted to give up because the look didn’t come out right or I didn’t get the recognition I wanted. I wanted to give up because I wasn’t giving a lot of likes and views on social media. I learned that being consistent and not getting too discouraged can go a long way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an administrative assistant for a management company in Charlotte, NC. I’ve been into administrative work for about five years now and I love it. I love helping people, I love moving around/ getting out the office. It’s always something to do and something different everyday.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was quiet and shy around people I didn’t know, but completely different around people I did know. Honestly it’s still like that today. I was always happy, talkative, and sweet girl. The only time I did get in trouble was for talking too much. I could be friends with anyone really. I just liked being a kid and hanging out with my friends.
