Meet Toni Gattis of Laurens SC 29360

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toni Gattis.

Hi Toni, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started out at Merry Maids in Greenville, where I got professionally trained. Then I went to Holiday Inn and worked there until COVID hit and I got laid off.

Fast forward 7 years later, we ended up moving to a new city.

We wanted to give back to the community and volunteer and just meet new people. So we joined all the local Facebook groups.

Well my husband seen a local lady looking for a cleaner. So I reached out to her, I went out to do a walkthrough and to see if we we’re a good fit.

Well we hit it off, and I got the job that was on November 21st, 2021.

I ended up opening with a business name in December 2021.

It was doing so good, my husband put his business on hold to come help me keep up with mine.

After 6 months of being open. We got our LLC’s.

Then we were officially, official with the state of South Carolina. That was on June 10th, 2022.

We ended up joining our local Chamber of Commerce in Laurens SC and did our ribbon cutting on February 21st, 2023.

That same day Margaret Burnquist with Access Carolina reached out to me wanting to do a segment on my business on cleaning hacks and ideas!

I aired on Access Carolina with Margaret Burnquist on March 7th, 2023.

Since we’ve been open we’ve joined Marbio Cares to give free cleans to cancer patients in/around our area.

We’ve been open now for five years!

I’m so grateful and blessed to have this opportunity to be able to go into someone’s home and make their life easier.

It really warms my heart, being able to help someone. You never know what someone else is going through.

They could be grieving, they could be depressed, they could be disabled, or just not know where to start, or they could just need maintenance cleaning because their lives are so busy.

Whatever it may be, I’m here to help! Without judgement! I know life happens and can get overwhelming.

We offer residential, commercial, and Airbnb cleaning. We’re licensed and insured. We’re rated five stars on Facebook, Google, and Yelp.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting out, I didn’t know how to do the pricing, book keeping, taxes and such.

So I spent a lot of long hours doing research on how to do it all on my own.

I knew the basics as of what cleaners not to mix together and what’s not safe on certain materials.

It did help that I did take marketing and business classes in school.

One of my biggest struggles was getting my name out there. It helped once I got my clientele up and word of referral goes a long way.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a professional cleaner. I think I’m known for my love of cleaning, and making people happy.

It’s just my husband and myself in their homes and offices as we are family owned and operated.

So it gives the clients a little more trust, because they know who’s coming and you can build a relationship with them over time.

I love to leave origami around in my clients homes, to make it feel like they’re on a vacation.

I’m most proud of how far I’ve come, I was scared to put myself out there. However, I do struggle with anxiety. Which is why it took my 7 years to venture out on my own.

Look at us now 5 years down the road and we’re still going strong. Even with raising 4 kids, and at one time I was running my cleaning business and started a second business called Solar’s Ranch. Even though that became more of a hobbie. As I grew closer to all my animals.

When you have a great support system, that definitely helps! I think what sets me apart from the rest is my heart, I really do pour all my love into what I do.

When Thanksgiving comes around I take my elderly clients plates who don’t have any family around.

I also try to remember birthdays so I can show my clients love to them on their special days.

On Easter, we like to give our little clients Easter baskets.

I just really go above and beyond for my clients. I love to spread love and kindness, so I do believe that’s what sets me apart from the rest.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
There’s always something new to learn.
