Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Brandon
Hi Tamara, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Psychology. While many assumed this meant I was likely to be a therapist, that wasn’t the case for me. From the start, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in marketing and social media. Although people didn’t always understand my vision at the time, I was confident that the path I was on would lead to success. That same year, just before my birthday, I decided to pursue modeling—a dream I had always had but didn’t know how to start, especially coming from a small town with immigrant parents. I applied and was accepted by several mother agencies, ultimately deciding to sign with The Dragon’s Management, where I’m still represented today.
Fast forward to now, and I’m fully immersed in modeling, training, and continuing to build my social media presence. Modeling has become a true passion of mine, and I’ve learned so much along the way—through maintaining a healthy diet and daily exercise, creative collaborations, networking, and handling rejections. I’ve realized that having a positive attitude, a strong community, and the ability to stay resilient are just as important as the work itself. All of these experiences have shaped my journey and have helped me get to where I am today.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, and I’ve faced my fair share of challenges along the way. One of the biggest struggles, especially in the creative field, has been dealing with the noise from other people. When you pursue something non-traditional, like marketing, social media, and modeling, a lot of people will offer unsolicited opinions. The irony is, many of these opinions don’t hold much value because the people offering them often don’t have creative experience or credibility in the field. While it can be a bit annoying at times, I’ve learned to tune it all out and not let it get to me.
What’s important is that I lean on the people who truly support me and trust my instincts. I’ve come to realize that the path I’m on is mine to follow, and I have to trust my gut, even when others don’t understand it. Despite the challenges, I know that each obstacle has been a valuable lesson, helping me grow stronger and more confident in my decisions. Everything really does happen for a reason.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a model, and modeling is truly my passion. What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come in this industry. I’ve put in a lot of time and effort into training, learning, and developing my craft. Whether it’s runway, editorial, or commercial work, I bring authenticity, high energy, professionalism, and dedication to get “the perfect shot” in every shoot. What sets me apart is not just my ability to model, but my understanding of the industry as a whole. I’ve learned the importance of fitness, a healthy lifestyle, and mental preparation, all of which contribute to my success as a model.
In addition to modeling, I have a strong background in marketing and social media, which I use to complement my modeling career. Through my social media platforms, I’ve built a genuine and engaged community. I connect with brands and share my journey in a way that reflects my personality and versatility. My ability to engage with my audience while staying authentic and grounded is something I believe sets me apart in both the modeling and digital space.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I have so many favorite childhood memories that it’s hard to choose just one. Growing up, I was lucky to experience so many joyful moments, especially through activities like learning to play tennis and making my childhood best friend, Isabel, who is still my friend to this day. Weekends were often spent at the beach, surfing and soaking up the sun, or at ballet classes where I’d be so excited to find out our costumes, the music, and the makeup—essentially getting to play dress-up with all the other girls I danced with. Classes were long but those performances were truly something special.
Family gatherings during Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks were also incredibly special. No matter how hard the year had been, I’d always look forward to those times with my cousins, especially Andrea, who’s like a sister to me. Family has always been important to me, even with its imperfections, and I cherish those times we all came together. Looking back, all of my favorite memories seem to have one thing in common: they involved the people I’m closest to, who were truly my rocks.
