Meet Sunny Moore of Sand 2 Summit Stays

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sunny Moore.

Hi Sunny, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello, Voyagers! I’m Sunny, and I’m excited to share a piece of my “voyage” with you! I’ve always been an ocean baby diving in exotic places- shark diving in Fiji, working as a safety diver for University students at reef research destinations and “fun” diving in the Caribbean. I spent years living and working across the globe—from the stunning Cayman Islands to exotic locations like Fiji, Bali, and Sulawesi. I’ve worn many hats in those years: dive guide, instructor, and boat captain. Those years weren’t just about adventure; they were a masterclass in reading people and managing high-stakes environments, and I feel very fortunate for every minute of it.

When I eventually moved to the US in 2017, I transitioned into the world of luxury wellness as a massage therapist. I spent several years at The Four Seasons, where I learned the “gold standard” of hospitality—that guests value the ‘personal touch’ of actually knowing who is looking after them.

The shift into real estate happened organically when I met my husband, Greg. We shared a passion for learning how to invest in ourselves and our future, we chose Real Estate investing as our vehicle, but our entry into the vacation rental world was born out of a realization rather than a plan. As we began renovating our own properties—starting with a townhouse in North Myrtle Beach—we looked for local management that matched the high-touch, “hospitality-first” roots we both came from. We couldn’t find it. So, we decided to be it. What started as managing our own five properties quickly snowballed into Sand 2 Summit Stays as neighbors, cleaners, and contractors began referring owners to us. I went from navigating coral reefs to navigating the Grand Strand rental market, bringing that same adventure perspective to everything we do.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like the pot holes of island roads, I don’t think any path is “smooth”! The biggest hurdle for me personally was the transition from being a “global nomad” to an employee at a prestigious brand like the Four Seasons, then the real life struggles of entrepreneurship that you can only understand once you’re in it. Once you see, you can’t unsee. IYKYK.

Leaving the security of a luxury brand income to go “all in” on ourselves was terrifying. There’s a certain vulnerability in saying, “I can do this,” and then having to prove it every single day. We’ve dealt with the classic “entrepreneur’s initiation”- self doubt, renovation budgets that grew legs and walked away, the steep learning curve of becoming property managers without previous experience, imposter syndrome, and the exhaustion of those early days where we were the designers, the contractors, and the concierge all at once.

One of our most recent challenges was navigating a shifting winter market of 2025. It forced us to stop relying on “the way things have always been done” and instead use data to pivot our strategy. But Honestly? Every “dumpster fire” has just been another lesson that we now use to better serve our clients’ investments.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Sand 2 Summit Stays is a boutique vacation rental company, but I like to think of us as “Invested Travelers hosting Fellow Travelers.” The name is a nod to our roots: I am the “Sand” (the island girl) and Greg is the “Summit” (the mountain lover).

We specialize in:
-Boutique Co-hosting: We provide high-touch partnerships for owners who want their properties managed with the same level of care we give our own. We focus on creating high-performing Airbnb listings that stand out in a crowded market.

-Revenue Management & Strategy: This is where we dive deep into the data. We utilize sophisticated pricing strategies and aggressive off-season planning to ensure our properties don’t just “sit” during the quiet months, but remain profitable year-round.

-Expert Consulting: For the owner who wants to remain “hands-on” and self-manage, we offer consulting services. We share our blueprint for success, from interior design and listing optimization to guest communication and vendor systems.

I’m most proud of our Boutique Partnership model. We treat every property as a unique individual with its own personality. We’ve brought that Four Seasons philosophy to our brand: guests value the personal touch of knowing exactly who is looking after them, and owners value the transparency of knowing their home is being cared for by people who actually know their names.

What sets us apart is that we aren’t just “property managers”—we are fellow owners and avid travelers ourselves. We understand the anxiety of handing over the keys to a major investment as well as the importance of the experience when you’re visiting a destination. Because of my background in international luxury resorts, I’m known for bringing a “worldy tone” to hospitality. We don’t want to be the biggest agency; we want to be the most intentional and memorable!

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I am a big believer in the “local tide lifts all boats” philosophy!

-Property Owners: If you’re looking for a management partner who values hospitality as much as ROI, we specialize in full-service co-hosting and property management.

-Consulting: For those who want to DIY their hosting journey, I offer consulting on everything from interior design and listing setup to revenue management.

-Local Vendors: We are always looking for “owner-operated” eats and local brands to feature in our guest guides. If you have a local business, let’s talk—we love sending our guests your way!

-Networking: We are always looking to connect with like-minded co-hosts. (Real queens fix each other’s crowns). I believe in sharing networks and referring clients to other trusted operators when a property doesn’t quite meet our specific portfolio criteria.

-Young Entrepreneurs: Supporting the next generation is important to me. We offer coaching and we’ve even started working with universities to provide internships for students who want to see what the modern hospitality industry actually looks like.

You can find me at www.sand2summitstays.com, and I’m always up for a chat over a good cup of tea or a cheeky sunset bevy.
