Meet Sherika Cremedy of South Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherika Cremedy.

Hi Sherika, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I fell in love with acting and theater when I was in 8th grade. I’ve done school plays and musicals since I was in elementary school, but 8th grade solidified my love for the craft. I took a break from acting but got back into it in 2022. I’ve done some really great films and television shows and my brother, Samson Baldwin, has always been one of my biggest supporters. I’d just lost my job when he called me with an idea: do dinner shows. I thought about it and decided to move forward with it because it combines all of the things I love: acting, music, food, drinks, and people! I tapped into my creative bag, my brother pushed me, and Sweet Scene Productions was born. My team consists of myself, my brother, and a few of my amazing, talented acting friends who are all locals in Greenville, SC. We’re a live sitcom show known as “Tiramisu.” That’s a layered dessert that’s full of flavor, and so are we as a group. We’ve completed three shows and we’re working on more. I’m thankful and I know that God is going to take us places.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve come across people who have doubted the vision. We are the first acting group to do live dinner shows in the upstate so I feel like we have to work hard to show and prove who we are and what we’re capable of. It’s been hard to find event spaces or venues on a few occasions, but I know things will work out in the end. I want to keep things on a certain level and I’m sticking to that.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m retired military and currently work in healthcare. I’m in school, again, to change my career from healthcare to education. My plan is to become a drama teacher in the upstate. I’m known for baking due to having a baking business years ago, but now I’m known for acting. I’m most proud of myself for maintaining my optimism. I’m resilient. I’ve faced so much adversity and many trials and tribulations, but God always sees me through. I’m still the same Rika C. that’s I’ve always been. I think the fact that I’ve always stayed true to myself is what sets me apart from others; I march to the beat of my own drum. Everyone says I have a light or bright aura about myself. I’m simply being me.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
We’re growing! I do believe we’ll be around and only getting better with time! Everyone loves great entertainment and an interesting storyline. Dinner shows have been around for years. I don’t see them ending any time soon. We just have to continue expanding on our creativity.
