Today we’d like to introduce you to Shanise Greenfield.
Hi Shanise, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. I graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania with a Bachelors of Arts degree in English. Immediately after graduating, I started my first real career out of college as a Juvenile Probation Officer in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I worked there for 3.5 years before deciding to go to law school. I graduated from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. A few months after graduating from law school, I began my first career out of law school at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. I handled Domestic Violence cases and decided to stick with helping the victims of Domestic Violence (“DV”). After moving to South Carolina in 2018, I began working at Safe Harbor as the Legal Program Manager, where I cultivated their legal program to assist the Safe Harbor clients with Orders of Protections, Restraining Orders, and other family court matters. After 1.5 years there, I decided to hang out my shingle and I started the Greenfield Law Firm, LLC in February 2020, which was at the height of COVID. I have been in practice with my own firm for five years now, and I have never been happier. I handle Family Court matters such as: divorce, separations, custody, child support, Orders of Protections, Restraining Orders, and Permanent Restraining Orders. I am also a Guardian ad Litem where I am appointed by a Judge to represent the best interest of children. I am also a trained Family Court Mediator, often volunteering my time assisting with mediations. I love what I do everyday because I get to help so many members of my community . It is rewarding work and I look forward to continuing this work.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I started my firm at the inception of COVID, within a month or two of it starting. I not only had to deal with the challenges of starting up a law firm as a solo practitioner in a somewhat new state, but doing it during COVID with a newborn baby and a five year old was very tough. I worked from home for a year and learned to run a firm virtually during this time. Now that I am back in office full time, I look back at that difficult time and appreciate the challenges I faced to get to where I am today.

The Greenfield Law Firm, LLC. is a litigation firm located in Greenville, South Carolina. I am a solo practitioner, with two staff members, and we handle divorce, separate support and maintenance, custody, child support, victim’s rights and domestic abuse cases. I am also a Guardian ad Litem and Mediator.
What sets me apart is my passion and commitment to my clients. I specialize in Domestic Violence litigation, which many attorneys in the state do not handle. I have been told by one of the agencies that I contract for, that I have singlehandedly handled the most DV related cases than anyone else in the state! I take pride in that and in the fact that I have successfully tried 95% of those cases to my clients’ benefit. I am a proud advocate for women and men who have been abused by others, and I stand firm in ensuring their rights are protected.
I want your readers to know that I am an extremely passionate and hard working person and that I will always do what is right and in their best interests. I take pride in knowing that there is no one that will work harder on a case than me because I give each and every case my utmost attention. I am well trained in handling domestic abuse and narcissistic abuse cases. I want the survivors to know that if they need someone to walk through the fire with them and hold their hand, or someone that will listen to them and validate them – I am that person.
