Meet Samaria Youmans of The Norm Core Esthetics, Llc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samaria Youmans.

Hi Samaria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Samaria Youmans. I’m a 6-year licensed esthetician with a genuine passion for beauty, skincare, and helping people feel confident in themselves. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in different areas of the beauty industry, from hands-on services and client education to leadership and customer experiences. Each role has taught me something different about myself and helped me become more confident, adaptable, and intentional about the kind of professional I want to be. I’m naturally someone who enjoys connecting with people, creating an experience that feels personal, and continuing to learn and grow in my craft. At this stage in my career, I’m looking for an opportunity where I can bring the experience I’ve gained, continue developing professionally, and be part of an environment where I can genuinely make an impact.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve faced challenges that have tested me mentally, physically, and emotionally, including experiencing a stroke that caused me to lose my speech and become paralyzed on my right side, followed by open brain surgery and the journey of rebuilding myself afterward. Even through those obstacles, I continued working, finished school, and remained committed to building my own business. My career in esthetics has become so much more than a profession for me…it’s a place of peace and relaxation for both my mind and body. There is something healing about being able to pour into others, help someone feel beautiful and confident, and create a space where they can relax and feel cared for. After everything I’ve overcome, being able to use my hands, my voice, and my creativity to make others feel and look good is something I truly value and never take for granted.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Norm Core Esthetics, Llc. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’m honestly not much of a reader, but I love content and platforms that allow me to be entertained, inspired, and creative. One of my favorite podcasts is Pour Minds—I enjoy the humor, conversations, and relatability of the hosts. When it comes to apps, my favorites are Canva, Goodnotes, and Edits by Instagram. I naturally gravitate toward anything that allows my creative side to flourish, whether I’m designing content, organizing my ideas, planning for my business, or bringing my vision to life. Creativity is a huge part of who I am, so I love having tools that give me the freedom to express it.
