Today we’d like to introduce you to Monica Merriweather.
Hi Monica, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I pursued modeling overseas in Rota, Spain, around age 22. I did local fashion shows on the military base. I love fashion and looking different, as well as hairstyles and makeup. It inspires me. I am a glam girl for sure Lol.
When I returned to the USA, I took a long break from modeling, but was always still into fashion,hair and makeup. Over a year ago, I decided to pursue once again, what makes me happy and become a freelance model. I also joined Christian Models Association/ Model With Purpose membership, a course teaching the fundamentals of Christian Modeling without compromising your Christian Morals and Values.
I’ve been featured and published in ten different magazines that consist of the USA and other Countries.
I recently displayed my style and fashion skills with Magnifique Winter Showcase in Gulfport, Mississippi where I was chosen to be a model ambassador for Designers Bowz Arama and Holland’s Fine Apparel.
The Magnifique Showcase(s) are organized and hosted by celebrity Victoria Henley of America’s Next Top Model.
I look forward to working with Victoria in the future. I am currently scheduled for a Spring Showcase in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, in May.
I love modeling. It’s a passion I’ve always had; dressing up always makes you feel good about yourself. My goal for 2024 is to become a commercial model, work more on the runway, and to collaborate with other celebrity models.
I truly believe God placed Victoria in my life for many reasons. I would love to show other young women that anything is possible; continue to strive for success. Right now, I am a Freelance Model. It requires a lot of hands-on work, you will appreciate it as you see your accomplishments.
Someday, I plan to sign with a model agency or management company. For now, I will continue to strive to be the best representation of myself.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Modeling is a gift that comes from God.
I was blessed with many different features; therefore, it hasn’t been a bad road for me. I’ve managed to keep my appearance up very well, just recently I had a milestone birthday. All praises to God.
I am still learning a lot, as I engage with other models, they are so willing to show you modeling tips. We all are like one big model family, even if it’s the first time ever engaging.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I have worked with various Healthcare facilities for 28 years, consisting of General Accounting, Patients Accounting, Billing Analyst, Financial Counselor, and RCM Denials.
It has been a fantastic experience. I love working with elderly patients the most. I find so much joy when patients say I made their day or made them smile just by assisting them. That’s a part of who I am—making people smile.
What’s next?
Doing what makes me happy is just the beginning of my journey, look for greater things to come! Knowing my parents, family and special loved ones are proud of me, keeps me pushing to greater success.
I trust God for whatever he has for me in his timing.
