Meet Michelle Carvalho of All In The Detail

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Carvalho.

Hi Michelle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have had a lifelong love of fashion and storytelling. Growing up in a Portuguese American family, I was deeply inspired by my Portuguese culture, handmade pieces, and the strong women around me. Fashion was always a creative outlet, but it wasn’t until later, when I worked in fashion myself, that I realized I wanted to build something that combined beautiful design with a deeper purpose.

I founded All In The Detail with the vision of creating timeless, meaningful pieces that celebrate individuality while honoring my Portuguese heritage, but also the beautiful talent of our artisan team. Every collection tells a story and I design them to help women feel confident, beautiful, and authentically themselves.

Like many entrepreneurs, the road hasn’t always been easy…but far from it. Building a brand from the ground up has required resilience, creativity, being able to pivot at a moment’s notice, and a willingness to learn through every challenge….but seeing our pieces being enjoyed by so many makes each step incredibly rewarding.

Today, I’m proud to lead a brand that prioritizes slow fashion, supports artisans, gives back through charitable partnerships, and continues to grow while staying true our roots and values.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has definitely has been far from a smooth road! Honestly, if you can think of it, then it has probably happened already. Our first year we had packages stolen after being caught up in a UPS truck hijacking, to having booked photo shoots where key samples were missing, to pulling all-nighters due to time differences to resolve supply chain issues and maybe catching 3-4 hours of sleep so I can focus on solving a problem before it impacted our customers.

Entrepreneurship is truly an emotional rollercoaster. Every stage of growth brings new opportunities, but it also brings new challenges you never anticipated. Just when you think you’ve figured something out, a new problem appears that requires a completely different solution.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to always have a Plan A, B, and C. That has been my moto in life and when I first started my first job in retail when selling to customers. Flexibility is everything. You have to be willing to pivot, adapt, and find creative solutions when things don’t go as planned. Equally important is being kind to yourself throughout the process. There will be setbacks, mistakes, and moments when you question everything.

At the end of the day, you have to genuinely love what you do. Passion is what carries you through the difficult moments. Whenever things get tough, I remind myself why I started in the first place and keep my eyes focused on the bigger picture. The challenges are temporary, but the vision and purpose behind what you’re building are what keep you moving forward.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
All In The Detail is a women’s lifestyle fashion brand inspired by my Portuguese heritage and a love for feminine and romantic timeless designs that are all handmade. We design and create pieces to help women feel confident, beautiful, and uniquely themselves.

What sets us apart is our commitment to slow fashion. We work with skilled artisans around the world, incorporating traditional techniques such as hand embroidery, embellishments, and other forms of craftsmanship that make each piece special. Even our prints are all designed and drawn by hand. One thing I’m especially proud of is building a brand that stays true to its values. Beyond creating beautiful products, we strive to make a positive impact through our partnerships with organizations that support environmental conservation and important causes close to our hearts. We believe fashion can be both beautiful and purposeful.

Every collection tells a story. Our designs are often inspired by my Portuguese heritage. From the colorful streets of Lisbon to the coastal beauty of Algarve, each collection captures what makes Portugal special to me and translates it into wearable pieces.

Above all, I want readers to know that All In The Detail is more than just a clothing brand. It’s a celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, confidence, and most importantly…the women who wear our pieces. Every design is created with intention, and every collection is meant to inspire women to embrace their individuality and feel their best in their everyday moments, whether it’s during big milestones or the little moments in between.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
There are so many ways people can support and collaborate with All In The Detail, and every bit of support truly means the world to us as a small business.

The most direct way is by shopping our collections, sharing our brand with friends and family, and engaging with us on social media. Every like, comment, share, and recommendation helps us reach new people and continue growing our community.

For content creators, influencers, stylists, additional brands, and media professionals, we’re always excited to explore authentic partnerships that align with our values and aesthetic. Whether it’s styling our pieces, creating content, featuring us in publications, or collaborating on creative projects, we love working with individuals who are passionate about fashion, storytelling, and supporting small businesses.

For boutiques and retailers, we’re always interested in connecting with partners who appreciate quality craftsmanship, unique designs, and slow fashion. We welcome wholesale opportunities and collaborations that help introduce our collections to new audiences.

Most importantly, we hope people connect with the story behind the brand.
