I had always cherished the sun-kissed mornings in my small hometown in Brazil. The vibrant colors of the market, the gentle rustling of palm leaves in the breeze, and the melodic sound of Samba echoing through the streets were the essence of her life. My two daughters and I lived a beautiful life surrounded by the warmth of family and friends. I worked in a surgical and aesthetics center.
But deep within my heart, I harbored a dream—to be part of something bigger and to create a legacy for my daughters. I envisioned starting my own business, a cozy Spa that would become a haven for those seeking comfort, connection, and beauty. I knew that to turn this dream into reality, I had to take a leap of faith, explore new horizons, and work hard.
With a mix of excitement and trepidation, I decided to move to the United States. I carefully planned every detail, ensuring my daughters felt secure and supported in our new adventure. Leaving behind our beloved Brazil was a bittersweet decision, but my determination to provide a brighter future for my daughters fueled my resolve.
We arrived in Charleston, South Carolina, a place where the charm of Southern hospitality embraced us. The transition wasn’t easy—there were moments of homesickness, language barriers, and cultural adjustments. Yet, my unwavering spirit and the love of my daughters kept me going.
After many years of hard work, going to school, and becoming a certified Aesthetician, I came upon a wonderful opportunity in the charming city of Hanahan. This is where the dream started becoming a reality, in the heart of Hanahan, where I would open my Spa. With every step, from painting the walls to selecting the perfect furniture, my family and I poured our hearts into creating a space that felt like home. The name is “Brazilian Spa by Luci, a tribute to her journey and the dreams that brought us here.
As the doors of Brazilian Spa by Luci, the community welcomed us with open arms. The fresh smiles, connection with people, and compassion drew people in, and soon, the Spa a cherished spot for locals to gather, share stories, and build connections.
My dream had become a reality. My daughters learned the value of hard work, resilience, and the importance of following one’s dreams. In a new land with endless possibilities, we created a life filled with love, ambition, and the promise of a bright future. We carried the spirit of Brazil within our hearts, knowing that no matter where we were, home was where our dreams flourished.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

With a heart of gold, Luci brought her years of experience, gentle and compassionate customer focus from Brazil to the United States building Brazilian Spa by Luci. We specialize in personal care and are known for our facials and wax treatments. What set us apart from other Spas is that our number one priority is our care for our clients. In addition, we provide a quality of service second to none. We love to make our clients feel at home while nourishing our relationships with them. After much research, we recently brought in a new, top-of-the-line product line for skin and ingrown hair treatment.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
There are multiple ways to define success, depending on your beliefs, goals and situation. For some, it might be about hitting a financial goal or reaching particular career goals. For me, success was working hard to build a better life for my daughters and I, while also owning a business of my own.
