Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly McLeod.
Hi Kimberly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Photography has always been a hobby of mine, but it wasn’t until 2015 that I realized that my hobby, and my background in early childhood education made for a knack in children’s photography. I became a full time family and children photographer in 2018, and added engagement and wedding photography to my list of passions.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It can be difficult to grow a business, and get your name out there, especially in an area that is blessed with many amazing photographers, but I am so thankful to have many wonderful clients, and love that I get a front row seat to see each of their families grow over the years, and to be a part of all of their big moments in life.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I would say that I specialize in children’s photography. I often hear from clients that getting pictures of their children has finally become easy and enjoyable. I love that I get to be the one to bring out the best smiles, and gift families with amazing family photos. I love that I get to build real relationships with my clients. Whether it’s lacing up your wedding dress, or cuddling your sweet baby, photography, for me, is about way more than just the photos.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I have definitely learned that photos are more than just photos. To be the one to capture a sweet baby’s first day of life, or to take the last photos someone will have of a precious loved one, these moments mean so much. These are cherished memories, and so much more than just a picture. I’m honored that I get to be the one to walk alongside families, and share in these treasured moments.
