Meet Katie King of Lake Murray

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie King

Hi Katie , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I had first started off a career it was not in the industry that I am in now. I was a full time college student working towards my HR Management degree and working at the same time as a HR Assistance getting real time job experience. I quickly realized it was not the path for me. I knew I wanted to be in a job that I was passionate about and able to help others achieve goals and building long lasting relationships, safe to say the Real Estate Industry was calling my name. I took all the steps needed to get my license in Michigan where I had grown up. I met with a Broker, Rich Rubba, who was just about to open a new office down the road and was on the search for new agents. After joining that office and creating relationships I met another Agent, Dalton Hahn who viewed the industry the same way. Together we grew our passion for the endless amounts of opportunities and possibilities that Real Estate and Real Estate Investing has to offer. Threw connections and relationships made, I met Mrs. Sharon Chapman and Mr. Nathan Chapman, owners of PMI Palmetto. When given the opportunity to move south and join the PMI Palmetto team as the Vacation Rental Manager I could not think of any reason to turn it down. I love traveling and being able to guide other travel lovers into vacation homes that truly feel like a home away from home.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been a smooth road, there are days where there are so many things to check off on the to-do list I wonder where I will find the time to get it all done. Days where all I hear back is bad news and rejection, days where I see others and compare myself to others. There will always be days where my energy is low and the road seems rough but those are the days that we find the most things to be thankful for, the days where we learn what we are truly capable of and learn the most. The days where the road is not smooth are always going to be there, but it is how you handle what is right in front of you and preserver through.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Vacation Rental Manager with PMI Palmetto. We are a locally owned and operated Full Service Property Management/Brokerage company that is backed by the PMI franchise out of Utah. PMI Palmetto specialises in Brokerage operations (Buying & Selling) as well as full service management for Short-Term and Long-Term Residential properties, HOA’s and lastly Commercial. As a Team we are able to take the hands on management off the of the hands of the owner so they can be as involved or un-involved as they would like. Offering our market expertise to get the best ROI for owners that we can.
As a Vacation Rental Manager I help guide our owners through on boarding their property into our systems to best manage them, as well as helping them get the home prepped and ready for guests to start arriving. Getting guests set up to have a great vacation all the way down to the amenities the home has to offer to guests and even having them live like locals while in town and visiting all of the communities must see spots from museums and parks to coffee shops and restaurants. Ensuring the home is well cared for after guests check out and making sure the home is clean and ready for the next set up vacationers!

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I love this question because success to me is a feeling. Yes, success can be the numbers in your bank account or how many hours in the day you work. Success to me is feeling like you are living out your highest potential and utilising your strengths for good and lifting others up. Living with limitless passion for what you create and knowing who you are and what you are meant to do with your life.
