Meet Jeremy Packer of Generations Electric

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Packer.

Hi Jeremy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started as an electrician right out of highschool working for a solar company on the west coast. I thoroughly enjoyed working with my hands and developing an understanding of electrical systems. I would eventually attend a technical college and relocate across country to where we are now in Myrtle Beach. After working in the solar industry for almost a decade and accumulating my licenses and certifications, I was presented with an opportunity to start my own company after the company I was with abruptly shut down end of 2022. By Early 2023, I had formed Generations Electric LLC and started down the journey we are currently on. With multiple employees and hundreds of satisfied customers we are eager to continue serving our community and growing our family!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
As we continue to grow, we are continually met with new challenges. In the beginning, I found the largest hurdle for me was just getting to understand the business. As a career technician all of my confidence was in the work itself, and very little in what it took to run a business. From establishing the LLC, to acquiring the correct insurances and bonds, to handling the finances and taxes. I was constantly humbled, and constantly learning.

We’ve been impressed with Generations Electric, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Generations Electric is a local electrical contracting business. We have a great reputation with our customers of offering a service that guarantees satisfaction. With 5 stars across all platforms, we are dedicated to making sure all of our clients are satisfied! Generations Electric offers a wide scope of work in both the residential and commercial industries, taking pride in every project, regardless of size.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5–10 years, the electrical contracting industry will continue shifting toward automation, reliability, and smarter energy management. Growing demand for EV chargers, standby generators, panel upgrades, and surge protection is pushing electrical infrastructure to the forefront, especially as homes and businesses place a higher value on resilience and safety. As systems become more complex, contractors will need to deliver not just installations, but well-planned, code-compliant solutions that anticipate future needs.

For Generations Electric, this shift creates opportunity. We’ve built our business around quality craftsmanship, clear communication, and staying ahead of industry changes. Clients are looking for professionals who can think beyond the immediate job and provide dependable, long-term solutions — and that’s exactly where we excel.
