Hi Grace & Emily, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
We met in college and pursued careers in creative marketing, each focusing on different areas—one in strategy and the other in branding. Over the years, we worked with both local and national brands, developing and executing impactful marketing campaigns.
But as much as we loved what we were doing, we kept coming back to the same idea—what if we took everything we’d learned and used it to support the businesses that make Charleston special? The coffee shops, boutiques, and local brands that give this city its charm.
So, we started Monday Media. With skills that complement each other perfectly, we help businesses tell their stories, grow their communities, and build brands that truly connect with their audience.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Working in social media comes with the challenge of keeping up with constantly evolving algorithms that impact engagement and reach. Strategies that work one day may become ineffective the next, requiring ongoing testing and adaptation. Balancing creative content with data-driven decisions is essential, as viral moments can be beneficial, but long-term growth depends on consistency and quality. Managing client expectations is also a key obstacle, as organic growth takes time. Additionally, standing out in a highly competitive digital space demands continuous innovation and a strong, strategic approach to content creation.

At Monday Media, we bring social media and creative design together to build brands that stand out. From strategy development and community building to branding and curated feeds, we craft every post and design with purpose—blending creativity with data to make sure it hits the right audience. We don’t just chase trends; we tailor every strategy to fit each brand’s unique voice and goals.

We’re big believers in continuous learning, both personally and professionally. Whether it’s refining our skills or gaining fresh perspectives, we love investing in our growth through podcasts and books.
