Meet Erin Meadows of West Ashley and Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Meadows.

Hi Erin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Writing on behalf of Christophe Paume – He is a third generation chocolatier from Toulouse, France. After learning from his family, he went to school in Paris. After moving to Charleston a little over 12 years ago, opened the first Christophe Chocolatier shop in Mount Pleasant. Since, the shop has moved downtown and expanded to West Ashley.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been difficult keeping the shop full of product to make it attractive for customers. Promoting has also been difficult. We have a lot of loyal customers, but we’d like to find new customers.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in our hand painted truffles, which is unique in Charleston. I am most proud of how much the people enjoy the chocolate I am making.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
You must really enjoy what you are doing. Making chocolate on a large scale is not like what you see on TV.

  • Chocolates $2.25 each
  • Macaron $2.50 each
  • Desserts $6.95 each
  • Croissants all under $4
